The 180 Degree Rule

Given the general collapse in honor and personal ethics, especially in the political arena, I’ve often wondered how anyone can determine with any certainty what, if anything is true anymore. After much observation, I’ve found there actually is a simple method of at least cutting through the political subterfuge. I call it the 180 Degree Rule, and it works like this:

First, determine whether or not the person talking is a Progressive. Party affiliation doesn’t matter; there are Progressives in BOTH Parties. If you are absolutely positive that the person speaking is NOT a Progressive – STOP! This method will not work.

However, if you know or strongly suspect the person speaking is a Progressive, simply take whatever they are accusing their opponent of being or doing and assume THEY are the one who is actually guilty.

End of rule.

I believe psychologists call it projection, but for political purposes, the 180 Degree Rule just sounds better. No matter what you call it, it doesn’t change the fact that, if you apply the rule objectively, you’ll likely find that it is 99% accurate, and in the 1% where it doesn’t apply, it will be because BOTH parties are actually guilty. Now, I am well aware that many people will object to this rule, but I am confident that, IF you give it a chance, you’ll be surprised at how uncannily it works. Once you become proficient with the 180 Degree Rule, you can even use it to ferret out Progressives. Case in point: Charlie Wrangle has accused his political opponents of being tax dodgers, but look who was actually found to be guilty of dodging taxes. This is how the rule works. You should give it a try sometime (my apologies to the majority of you who already had this figured out for yourself).

  6. So you are a progressive too? Neat! So, how’s Wrangle? Still wearing his but on the front of his pants? Have you been to his Dominican Villa? I assume you guys all hang out together…

    • Well I just happened by this thanks to joe referencing it in another article. Funny that I might have missed it, but since I did, I will just necro-post here and point out exactly how flippant, and silly CCF’s response is. Written by an intellectual pauper, for those that would follow one.

      Well done.

  11. So true.

Some people call it Projection. Whatever feelings or traits are held inside, those are projected onto people and circumstances in the outside world.

Which is why I guess some people claim that Peace comes from within.

Maybe we just need to chant Ohm Chanti? ;)
