I heard about this when I was still in Michigan, but I didn’t want to post anything until I had some documentation. I waited for the Detroit Free Press and other local media to report the story, but I gave up after more than a week of searching. Fortunately, Gadi Aldeman (GA) interviewed Ruben Israel (RI) and posted the disturbing news over at Front Page Magazine.
On Sunday, June 17th, 2012, Ruben Israel’s group of street preachers went to the Islamic Center of America (the same mosque I had visited two days earlier). While the group was preaching, a Muslim emerged from the mosque, got into his SUV, and tried to run them over. Mosque security naturally blamed the preachers for provoking him.
Everyone should take note here. Ruben Israel’s presence at the Dearborn Arab Festival was national news. The media jumped at the chance to show images of intolerant Christians harassing Muslims (check out Niraj Warikoo’s coverage over at the Detroit Free Press). While I have no objections to calling attention to (and criticizing) the actions of Ruben Israel and his associates, we should all be horrified to realize that nine counts of attempted murder by a Muslim targeting Christians isn’t even considered newsworthy by local media in Michigan.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel appoints Hamas-linked CAIR’s Ahmed Rehab to advisory committee
In an article last December in the Huffington Post, Ahmed Rehab of Hamas-linked CAIR claimed that the “Radical Right,” not Islamic jihadists, were the greatest threat to America today. His article was full of the predictable whining, victimhood posturing, and no hint whatsoever that any Muslims are waging jihad against the United States.
The thuggish Rehab has also spoken up in defense of the Islamic supremacist group Hizb-ut-Tahrir’s right to hold its convention in Chicago (Hizb-ut-Tahrir is banned in many countries), while working to suppress the freedom of speech of anti-jihadists.
And so it should come as no surprise that the likes of Rahm Emanuel has appointed him to an advisory committee. “Ahmed Rehab appointed by Mayor Emanuel to Advisory Committee,” from CAIR-Chicago, June 29 (thanks to Diane):
CHICAGO – Today Mayor Emanuel announced the Office of New Americans (ONA) Advisory Committee – a committee of advisors to generate recommendations, develop strategies, and present an overall vision to promote the City’s economic vitality and ensure global competiveness [sic], by becoming the most immigrant friendly city in the world.
I can find no verification of this story, B, and that does not mean that the media is is covering it up, either. It means that you have been suckered, once again, by the right-wing cyclone of mis-information. It just isn’t true.

As for Emmanuel appointing a Hamas sympathized to an advisory board, You do know Emmanuel is Jewish, right? That his uncle died in the ;48 war? That Rahm volunteered during the 1st gulf war? I seriously doubt that he would appoint an anti-semite to anything. Sounds fishy to me.

Greg, I have soundly refuted your objection. Now, if you would be seen as rational, you should at the very least – retract that objection. If you would be seen as intellectually honest, you would also admit you were wrong.

One, he didn’t send anybody to the gas chamber; he helped his pretend-father catalog items seized from jews, when he was 14, B.
