Here’s the story:
PICKET:(VIDEO) Obama – ‘If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen’
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
Here’s my question:
How can Obama make the assertion that the business owner did not build their business when the business owner – NOT the employee – was the one who paid for all the things Obama claims actually built it? I mean, the 50% who do not pay taxes did not pay for the schools, build the roads, fund the police, or fire department or ANY of the things Obama claims the business owner needed to succeed – THE BUSINESS OWNER PAID FOR IT!
My commentary:
MARXISM – pure and simple. Also un-American – pure and simple. And the perfect formula for the destruction of this nation and – with it – the last of what remains of liberty and prosperity in the world.
Govt. research created the internet? This whole time I thought it was Al Gore.
The only “govt. research” that ever produces ANYTHING of value is related to the military – and even then, it is because those companies hope to be able to use what they invent in the more profitable private sector.
Whenever the “govt invention” is PURELY for govt. use, you get corruption – hence the F-22 and F-35.

Government research caused the genesis of the internet with “intranets” between research facilities.
So, In truth, “Maybe, Kinda” since the internet has gone so far beyond what anyone imagined with the work of the private sector and individuals…
True, the internet would have NEVER been invented by the govt. because the intranet was as far as they had need to go. Hence, as govt. NEVER concerns itself with the market, it would have NEVER envisioned the internet as we know it today.
Good point: but a point the Left will argue because they never see the logical extensions of their neoreasoning.

Wrong again, Joe. Roughly 50 percent of Americans don’t pay federal income taxes–but they still pay gas taxes (which fund roads), property taxes (which fund schools, police and fire departments), sales taxes, state income taxes, etc.
Funny, I thought you told us those things were paid for by federal taxes taken from blue States and given to red ones. I really wish you’d make up our minds
Cute little attempted diversion, Joe, and God knows we’d never expect you to admit you were wrong–but as you know, the funds come from a variety of places, and I never claimed all of it came from any single source. But thanks for reminding folks that blue states are subsidizing red ones. And if you don’t know where funding comes from, should you really be blogging about it?
Your hypothesis doesn’t take into account the direct cash given to people like the earned income tax credit, which one could argue would pay any gas taxes or property taxes, etc.
So maybe “not so much” after all.

Are you saying that the earned income tax credit makes up for all gas taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, etc. from those who don’t pay federal income tax? If so, you’re seriously in error. If not, you’re just trying to distract from the truth of what I said. But at least Joe thought your effort was a “good job.”
I know a retired accountant who volunteers his time helping people with their taxes every year. He explains that Individuals ask the question, “?how much can I make before I lose the earned income tax credit (EIT)?” There are numerous families that brag about how large a check they get from the federal government due to the EIT…… Very sad.
THEFT! They are thieves – pure and simple. They are purposely living their lives so that they can get as much of their neighbors money as possible. The only thing they have not done (because they lack the necessary courage) is to go take that money in person. Instead, the cowards send the govt. to do it and sit home telling themselves they “deserve” their neighbor’s money.
This is NOT an “American” attitude.
