Taliban shoot 14-year-old Pakistani peace campaigner
I read this article this morning and I’m still at a loss for words. What kind of people would send assassins to kill a 14 year old schoolgirl? What would make a group of people so afraid of this child that they would attempt to kill her and any other schoolchildren that happened to be in the way?
Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said his group was behind the shooting.
“She was pro-West, she was speaking against Taliban and she was calling President Obama her ideal leader,” Ehsan said by telephone from an undisclosed location.
“She was young but she was promoting Western culture in Pashtun areas,” he said, referring the main ethnic group in northwest Pakistan and southern and eastern Afghanistan. Most members of the Taliban come from conservative Pashtun tribes.
So . . . she and two other young girls were shot, Yousufzai critically wounded, for simply stating/blogging her opinion that the Taliban is an oppressive regime, something we have a constitutional right to do, and yet we continue to send billions of dollars to Pakistan in aid and support.
This is why Americans should never take the 1st Amendment for granted and when it is said to be “conditional”, we should immediately question why and by who. We should question our government closely on who/what our tax dollars support, and it is also why there will never be peace in the middle east, regardless of how much money and aid we send them, or how many American soldiers die over there.

I know a lot of people will not want to hear this, and many of them will try to tell me I am wrong, but all these people are doing is following the teachings of their religion. It is perfectly acceptable under Sharia law, which is derived DIRECTLY from the Qur’an and Ahadith, to do what they did. To them, they were following the commandments of Allah as revealed by Muhammad.
It is THAT simple.
And you feign surprise. As we have seen throughout history- virtually all religions are capable of great atrocities because they believe they are doing is “God’s will.”
And yes, Utah, you have a point. To an extent. These are people that choose to follow a section of their religious text, to the letter, as gods command, while willfully choosing to ignore the other sections that contradict these things. What would happen if Christians or Jews chose to follow these same types of sections in their holy books these ways? Wait, don’t answer- because history is replete with examples of this exact same behaviour in the name of their god.
Despite what it seems to me you are asserting- that there is an intrinsic problem with this particular religion, I would posit, as we have seen throughout history, the problem lies in the men (and I use that gender specifically because overwhelmingly it has been men) who use a subset of their religious text to promulgate violence and intolerance.
Are you REALLY this ignorant? I mean, really. If you had half the understanding of this subject you pretend to have, you would be embarrassed to post such asinine comments. That is, if you have any self-respect and common decency.
OK, let’s deal with this mess.
First, do you know what “abrogation” is in Islam? It means that the later “revelations” supersede the early ones. So, when you refer to Muslims ignoring the parts of their scripture that tell them not to do such atrocities, you show your ignorance. Those supposedly “peaceful” passages in the Qur’an were the earliest revelations. They were “abrogated” very early in Islam — say, along about the Battle of Nahkla, but certainly by the revelation/command where Allah says warfare is commanded for Muslims. So you might want to try reading the Qur’an and learning about Abrogation. It will save you a lot of looking like the ignorant person you are.
Next, if Jews were to follow their scriptures, THEY WOULD BE CHRISTIANS! And if Christians were to follow their scripture, you would NOT have anything like this incident because there is NOTHING like this commanded by Christ. You won’t find ANYTHING comparable to Islam in Christ’s Gospel — PERIOD! So the notion that Christians ignore come sort of scriptural command to do evil is — well — just so much more ignorance.
Finally, your assertion that there is nothing intrinsically wrong with Islam is worst than simple ignorance, it is willful ignorance. A simple reading of the Qur’an and Hadith will testify that Islam is evil — period. This does not mean all Muslims are bad, but the religion is evil and there is no way around it. heck, how can a religion that is based off the word of a man who claims he was a sinner, could tell no prophecy nor work no miracles and DID fall under the power of Satan (at least once) ever be trusted as a messenger of any god??? And yet, this was ALL in the Qur’an — though the Satanic verses were purged long ago.
There’s more — a lot more. But what’s the use: those on the Left already know so much that isn’t so, there’s no room left to help them know anything else, especially the truth.
So, in short, you have accomplished nothing here but to show that you suffer from an extreme case of ignorance where BOTH Islam and the Judea/Christian religion are concerned. It would be refreshing were you to actually educate yourself before you pontificated about something you know NOTHING about — but no worries, I’m not going to hold my breath.
I have corrected you in the past about abrogation, B, yet you persist in in spouting this term as if it is written in stone. Muslim scholars have argued about abrogation since the Quran was written, Some say only five verses have been abrogated, some say over a hundred. Yet you have the arrogance to pronounce yourself the ultimate freaking authority on the writings of Mohammed.
You have NOT corrected squat. You have regurgitated Muslim apologist propaganda intended for the consumption of Western dopes such as yourself.

Incidentally, Muhammad was VERY clear about abrogation. Anyone who wants to dispute that command is in violation of a number of other commands from Muhammad and, as I understand the Qur’an, he is in danger of being branded what Muhammad called a “hypocrite.”
I am linking this page on abrogation inorder to show how complicated and controversial a subject it is. B thinks he knows the truth, but Islamic scholars have been arguing about this for centuries. There are levels of abrogation, questions about which verses were abrogated.
Good thing we have B to tell them Muslims all about their own religion, and with such certitude, too.

That’s not surprise I “feigned”, drugs. It’s pure stomach-turning disgust for a group of people (Taliban) that are so ass-backwards and cruel they will never get too far past the stone age and will always live in caves and tents. Nothing they do surprises me. Also, perhaps you will show me where in my post I mentioned any religion. Speaking of religion though, where exactly, in the Bible does it give one group of people the right (or permission) to gun down young girls for expressing their cultural beliefs?
