If you happen to be among those who do not believe in God, or who are of a different faith, I will respect your belief, but I ask that you return that respect and allow me to speak to those who call themselves by Christ’s name…please.
If you call yourself Christian, you need to pay attention to this story:
“Israel…is not in the right in any shape or form,” one of the men said, apparently part Jewish himself. “I don’t think us being with Israel is a good choice for us or the world.”
Granted, the youth in the videos in this story do not speak for all Obama supporters, and I do not pretend to make that claim. I also acknowledge that there are individuals on the Right who would agree with these young men. But the trend in this nation’s foreign policy is toward supporting Israel’s enemies, which actually places America on the wrong side of God:
New International Version (NIV)
3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
That brings us back to this story:
A day before the arrival in Washington of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, Mr. Obama declared that the prevailing borders before the 1967 Arab-Israeli war — adjusted to some degree to account for Israeli settlements in the West Bank — should be the basis of a deal. While the 1967 borders have long been viewed as the foundation for a peace agreement, Mr. Obama’s formula of land swaps to compensate for disputed territory created a new benchmark for a diplomatic solution.
Setting aside that Obama is advocating the very thing for which he has apologized to the world — his perception that America has too long told other nations how to manage their affairs — this proposal represents a death sentence to Israel. Those who understand the military and political implications of returning to the ’67 borders for Israel’s survival understand that Obama’s proposal cannot be viewed as “friendly” toward Israel. If you have ever been to Israel proper, and been to the most strategic locations that would be threatened by such a move, you don’t have to imagine the threat it presents – you can see it! This call by Obama for a return to the ’67 borders is among the strongest evidence yet that Obama and his Administration are actually hostile toward Israel.
Now, for everyone reading this — Christian or not — I ask you: since it was reconstructed, and no matter how great the odds in their favor against Israel, what nation has managed to prevail against Israel? None! And this is foretold in scripture. This is also one of the ways you can test whether or not the Bible is the inspired Word of God: by watching what happens to those nations that come against Israel going forward.
I just pray we — as a nation — get back on the right side of God on the issue of Israel before it’s too late.
