I am with you guys 100% ! I haven’t given to the GOP / RNC since 2008.
BUT…..We will have to also USE the GOP still….I’m not quite sure how, but there are long-term older Conservatives who will NEVER leave, and we will need they’re suppoert in conservative elections. We have to keep this in mind in our strategems.

How to “use” those old “conservatives:”
Simple, run TEA Party candidates (i.e. independents) who really ARE conservative and pull the votes away from the Republicans.
Something else we are going to have to face is the “republican” talk radio mafia. They are as much a part of the problem as the RINOs because — as much as they claim to know and speak the truth – their ONLY answer is ALWAYS “Stay with and change the party from inside.” To this ends, they are no different than the Democrat masters working to keep their own slaves on the plantation

Right…..But we need to make sure those “old” conservative GOP members DO VOTE for the TP candidate and NOT the RINO alternative….that’s what I’m getting at.

Sadly, the people you are talking about are as wed to their beliefs as the Democrat slaves. We will have to be willing to accept that some people cannot be saved and just set about saving the nation without them.
But, again, this is a GOD-sized problem and, as much as many may not want to hear it, we will NEVER sole our troubles unless and until we turn back to God.
Well, actually I think a certain percentage of them CAN be persuaded to vote TP/ Conservative….if the message is strong enough….and many of them are already turned toward GOD so that could work in our favor also.
I think there are some who will stay RINO no matter what….but I think many in the GOP are more turnable than in the Democrat party….perhaps that’s naive on my part.

I have been an “R” since the age of 18 until this election when I changed my “label” and discarded the “party(s)” as they are today. I have been of the opinion that any R is better than a D. And while that still holds true since all our elections come down to that reality, I realized that the real party is “grassroots” – the Tea Party & Conservatism – NOT the government embedded party establishment as currently constructed. Not a system where its the people vs. the parties. We own these parties so lets take them (or at least one) back and use them for OUR purpose – a Constitutional purpose.
Other reasons for my change to “Independent” are simple and self defined; the name itself represents my personal belief of “individualism” or being “independent” of party therefore pro Liberty. But this is just an exercise in “feel good” BS and a statement to the Republican party itself that they do NOT own or have my support and to count me out of your consensus!
Now while we all hate the party system lets face facts and not be naive. The bottom line is while I will NEVER vote for a D as they are just simply untrustworthy, I may temporarily support a D for a specific bill or law if they take a Conservative stance. Same holds true for the R’s and I will continue to push for Conservative R’s until this established party proves worthy of my support again as a true Constitutional Conservative Republican party. Until then they get not a dime and full resistance as I am giving Bonehead [Boehner].
But let’s not fool ourselves either, parties have power in our current system and that isn’t necessarily bad. What’s bad is when WE let it run wild. I would rather have a third party labeled Conservatives but we have to work with the “power structure” we the people have created, authorized and continue to create and authorize. I would rather have Conservatives in power than any R or D in name only so rather than throwing out the baby with the bath water, I will work to change the guards in the power structure available and that as a Tea Partier is exactly what I am working to do.
And please, save your energy on trying to tell me the party system is over. It is NOT!. Not anymore than the 17th Amendment is going to be abolished or the current tax code too. I will buy your “party system is over” when that happens first so until then I am working with the structure we have – to change that – then go after the 17th Amendment and the tax code with a power structure for Constitutionalism as the left has created for Socialism! When the polarity shifts I want Conservatives in that power structure and that is exactly what we need to work on. We have great momentum now with Conservative governors etc. but we have a large push over the next 2 and 4 years to be in the right place at the right time to fulfill Reagan’s dream on the backs of the Lefts destructive use of its power then SNATCH IT off the vine when its ripe!

Just keep in mind why Washington told us a Party system would eventually lead to our demise: because, when you have Parties, your allegiance is no longer to liberty, but to the Party. A people does not unit under the notion of Party loyalty, it divides.
Our founders were divided along MANY lines, but they were able to unit under the banner of liberty. In this sense, they were the opposite of what we have become.

That said, it will NOT make a difference with leadership as — like Limbaugh always tells people — the Republican leadership is PROGRESSIVE (this is what Limbaugh is telling people when he calls them “Rockefeller country-club and/or blue-blood Republicans:” Rockefeller was a Progressive, as were many of the other leading Republican families from the early 1900′s who still hold the reins of Party power today))
I totally agree with what you are saying and so does my husband. He just hasn’t made the leap yet.. he will! I actually emailed Marco Rubio and let him know (I’m just sure he’ll read the email, lol) that I have changed my party and will no longer contribute to the Republican Party as we have in the past.

To all you “independents” especially those living in Florida. I don’t want to hear one peep… not one, when you don’t like the choices given to you on the next ballots. Florida has a closed primary system and OTHERS will then choose who will be available to vote for on the ballots in the next election. What Hockey is saying is that we are going to have to be facile about party affiliations…..perhaps STILL be registered GOP in order to keep them honest but at the same time give $$$ to TP Conservative independents and walk the street for them too.

If we take HockeyDad’s approach, all they will see is affirmation that they control us and that we will – ultimately – do their bidding. It doesn’t matter to them if we do it against our will: all that matters is that we do it.
Trying to defeat evil by standing with evil does not work, so why would we expect to defeat a Progressive Party by staying in and voting for/with that Progressive Party?

If American Motors makes garbage cars, would you continue to buy them just because they “say” they make the best cars? So why continue to vote for a party that continues to “say” they stand for certain things but does other things?
In the primaries, I voted Paul! In other words, I had the option at that time to have a voice. Quite frankly, I believe B. has given me the perfect idea. Why not choose the most conservative democrat as a registered democrat? I can switch parties. I’m very adept in another’s skin.
