Dolemite Unchained

What did I tell you?

Blaxploitation:

Tarantino’s affinity for black culture and interest in the ways blacks and whites relate have always been evident, but they’ve never before been front and center to the extent that they are in Django Unchained. Some might object to the writer-director’s tone, historical liberties, comic japes or other issues, but there can be no question who gets the shaft here: This is a story of justifiable vengeance, pure and simple, and no paleface is spared, even the good German who facilitates a slave’s transformation into a take-no-prisoners hunter of whites who trade in black flesh.

I said:

Bill O’Reilly was up in arms over Jamie Foxx saying that he got to kill all the white people in his new movie. So what? Foxx is so stupid and clueless that he doesn’t realize how accurate he was when he said on SNL that “black is the new white”. Through his new movie, Django Unchained, he is being exploited by white liberal people like Quentin Tarantino – just like the old “blaxploitation” movies of the 70′s. These were movies made to make blacks feel powerful even as the liberal policies were keeping them in poverty – and taking their money. They promoted the feeling that “man, we are poor as dirt but a black man beat the crap out of that white pimp! How great was that?!”

Blacks are the new old liberal toy that it has become acceptable to play with again. Liberals feel immune to criticism because they voted in a black president. They feel safe to take their Little Black Sambo doll out and reenact Brer Rabbit now.

Jamie Foxx is nothing but the contemporary Dolemite.

    • Blaxploitation is a whole genre of really, really bad films cranked out in the 70′s to access the black demographic.

But filmmaking and TV during that period look equally as pitiful today. There is a TV show over here from the late ’70′s/early ’80′s called The Professionals – about the fictional crime fighting organization CI-5 – that I watch while I’m running on the treadmill every morning and I have to work hard to keep from laughing. The acting and production values are pathetic but it was a top 10 show in the UK for a couple of years.

  1. Hmmm….I’ve not seen the Jaime Foxx show, but I watched the trailer at your link. It looked like Tarantino’s other shows. He has his own stylized way of directing, and seems very fond of martial arts and violence. When I think on Dolemite, Shaft, Foxy Brown, &c., I think on the violence, but also the tongue-in-cheek comedy. I don’t know if Tarantino’s interpretation of what he saw as a kid is just different from mine cause like I said, I haven’t seen it. Blaxploitation…..do you not think Hollywood is the den of exploitation regardless of skin color?

I’m so stealing japes. You must’ve won Scrabble with that.

  2. With this comment Kells…”Blaxploitation…..do you not think Hollywood is the den of exploitation regardless of skin color?”, You captured most of everything that Hollywood really is……Just add in …Promoting Progressivism / Communism… and that about covers it .
