Obama, Castro and Gun Control: Another Pictorial Lesson

I have tried and tried to remind and warn people:

But I am told I am being paranoid: taking things too far.  I’m told that Obama doesn’t want to disarm me.  After all, he said so.  But then, I see Obama’s operatives saying this:

Feinstein: ‘Purpose is to dry up these weapons over time’

And I remember that Attorney General Reno said that registration is only the start.  The government’s ultimate goal is gun confiscation.  but then, I shouldn’t worry.  We’re America.  Nothing like this would ever happen here:

Fidel Castro’s “common sense” gun-control pitch

What are these arms for? Against whom are they going to be used?

Against the revolutionary government that has the support of all the people? Do we have a dictatorship here? Are we going to take up arms against a free government that respects the rights of the people? We have a free country here. We have no censorship, and the press is free. The people can gather freely if they want to. There is no tormenting of political prisoners, no murders, no terror. When all the rights of the citizens have been restored–and an election for the purpose is going to be held as soon as possible–why do we need arms? Are we going to unseat the President with the arms? Are we going to set up revolutionary organizations? Are we going to have gangsters?

Within days of Castro’s promises of civility, a wave of executions was underway. All at the urging of the people, of course.

Luckily, we have no reason to believe Obama would copy or follow i the foot prints of any of history’s dictators:

And Obama doesn’t have any connections like close friends who might advocate the elimination of Americans who try to resist his policies.  I mean, Bill Ayers is just a guy Obama knew back when, right?

Obama hasn’t done anything to make us think he could possibly be planning anything like the murder of innocent Americans:

No, wait, this can happen here!  We’re not immune from the forces of human nature or the tide of history.  In fact, our refusal to see what is happening is exactly why and how it will happen — and it will all be done by following orders and obeying the law:

  1. Joe,

The photo of the trench is the reality of gun control and confiscation. It is hard to believe fellow Americans would follow these orders but history reminds us that it is reality. There is good and evil and currently evil is outweighing good in the US today. If it were not MIT Romney would be president. Thanks for the post and taking time to drive it home.

  2. Am I the only one seeing Molon Labe all over? On Facebook, on Twitter, scrawled on a bus stop in San Francisco. It’s so prevelant right now the left has developed an organized response–Moron Label. Americans are not Europeans and the President would be wise to consider that before he try’s to confiscate anyone’s guns.

  3. To connect this with an earlier post of yours Joe; this use of the executive order was first used by Lincoln to remove constitutional rights from the people.

    • Triper,

I wish we could get more people to see and understand all the ways these sort of things connect to each other. When I was younger, I hated history. I always found it boring. As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to understand that the only way we can ever hope to understand our world is to study history and apply the lessons learned in the past to our advance forward. Failure to do so leads to… Well, it leads to what we have now :-(

  4. Are there any historical examples of governments who disarmed the population then went on to do good? As a product of the school social engineering in the 60′s and 70′s, I am crap with History and don’t know what I don’t know. I am trying to find a sense of proportion here and to see if I should be panicking.

    • drketedc,
      Simply? No.
There are no good results of disallowing people their natural rights to protect themselves, family, friends, and community.
A “criminal” comes along and subjugates the defenseless every time. Be the tyrant is a “political leader” or military leader or cartel leader….

Our founding father’s knew history and understood greed and power.

    • drketedc,

I can’t think of any, but then, you’ll have to take the Leftist ideal of “good” into account. Many of them would answer yes, Russia, China and Cuba. See what I’m getting at?

But again, I cannot think of an example of a nation that disarmed its people and went on to “do good” according to the traditional Western understanding of the term.

      • According John R. Lott: (who was the first economist assume the task of reviewing EVERY available statistic, before John R. Lott, Criminologist Gary Kleck, was the first “criminal law expert” who attempted to examine crime and gun control. In the late 1980′s early 90′s, Kleck was the first professor/academic to look at the crime rates and gun control laws and attempt to examine the correlations. The “Brady Campaign and Handgun Control Inc. attacked Kleck personally for his attempted academic studies. Kleck stopped writing on “the truth” after the national personal attacks, even though the masses of law enforcement officers supported him… I presume his career “funding” dried up, much like the scientists who pointed out “global warming” was a fraud…. )

In every place that has instituted “gun control”, that has kept crime statistics, the crime rate has gone UP after instituting “gun control”.
