Why is there a powder plume shooting off at a right angle to the shotgun barrel?
I don’t think this is a real shotgun. I’ve shot “electronic skeet:” in the UK with shotguns rigged with lasers and they are faked to appear as real shots, including the smoke. I’m betting that this is bullshit propaganda.

There is something definately wrong with this photo (besides the smoke coming out the side of the barrel). What in the hell is that white tip at the end of the barrel? Never seen a choke or anything that looks like that on a skeet gun.
Why does he have the stock so high up on his shoulder? That would hurt, if it was a real photo.
I’d bet money it’s the first time he’s ever shot a shotgun.
Many skeet, trap, & sporting clays guns are ported to help reduce recoil & muzzle rise. It could be the ports of a ported gunbarrel venting gas.
Tex, had never heard of a ported barrel and been around guns all my life. Looked it up and that’s what he must be using. Learn something every day (still).
I’ve seen hundreds ported. Just never along one side of the barrel. I with the fuzzy bear on this one. I call bullshit.
I’m with you. I have seen muzzle brakes on many weapons from all over the world but I couldn’t figure out why the venting wasn’t radial and directed away from the sight line. He’s sending a plume directly across his field of view…
O was probably trained in the use of soviet bloc designed arms when he took his middle east trip during his college years to countries that were illegal to go to on a USA passport.
O must have used his British or Indonesian passport then.
Ladies & Gentlemen.
Browning over/under Citori 625 sporting clays has ported barrels from the factory. Look closely and you will see a series of small holes drilled in the tops of the barrel on each side just below the screw in chokes.

When you shoot 100-200 rounds in a match per day, every little bit helps.
I’ve never shot skeet, but I thought they sorta FLUNG them in the air so that you had to shoot at an angle other than LEVEL. Or maybe these are the liberal “snipe” brand of skeet…
Skeet is short for the Liberal / Left word “Skeeter”…..which is what the Left calls all of us down below the Mason Dixon line….their ultimate Goal is to ,as the Prez sayz.,…..”…go Skeet Shooting all the Time…” I believe Eric Holder is engaging Justice Dept meets for just this purpose.
Off on a tangent now…. my son just told me that he is not able to purchase ammo. He also said that they have removed their AR-15′s. Great sales or confiscation?
I was in line before 8 am this morning and only the first 20 or so people got any ammo worth getting……No 7.62 x 39 at all….they ran out of 9mm, 223 and 22lr and 45 acp all in that 30 min opening period. only a few boxes of 5.56 left…..and VERY expensive . 40 and 38 special…nobody was touching it because of price.
Tons of 308 and 30-06. 30-30….but those are hunting loads………Only 1 AR came in, the guy who had been there since 3 AM got it. And a guy picked up a Pink camo AR for his wife….but it had been on order since early NOV…..other than that it was the same as your son’s experience….no AR’s.
No .223 or 9mm anywhere.
I was able to get ammo for a LadySmith 38 recently, but very expensive.
9mm FMC is 18 bucks a box for fifty at our local shop. If you want defensive rounds, it goes up to around 28 bucks a box for 25 rounds. My shop had several cases of 7.62×39 for 200 bucks the other day when Congressman Jeff Duncan came by on his 2nd amendment listening tour.
The shotgun in the picture has been incorrectly identified by the media as a Remington 1100, a semi-auto. It is actually a Browning Citori over/under double barrel. Notice the lever at the top of the breech?
I also don’t understand the smoke coming out the side either, unless it was a very windy day in which case, I wouldn’t think one should be trying to “shoot skeet.”
guy – They just like to use the term “semi-automatic” in a sentence.
