“Every dollar we invest in high-quality education can save more than seven dollars later on,”
“This works,” he said. “We know it works. If you’re looking for a good bang for your educational buck, this is it right here.”
The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother’s care, shall be in state institutions at state expense.
–Karl Marx
Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.
–Vladimir Lenin
“Our problem is not merely to help the students to adjust themselves to world life…[but] to make them as unlike their fathers as we can.”
–John Dewey
Any more questions?

One reason mans quest for Power.
“You know that the beginning is the most important part of any work, especially in the case of a young and tender thing; for that is the time at which the character is being formed and the desired impression is more readily taken….Shall we just carelessly allow children to hear any casual tales which may be devised by casual persons, and to receive into their minds ideas for the most part the very opposite of those which we should wish them to have when they are grown up?
We cannot….Anything received into the mind at that age is likely to become indelible and unalterable; and therefore it is most important that the tales which the young first hear should be models of virtuous thoughts….”
― Plato, The Republic
This is not the first time early education and a call to hand over babies to the government has been attempted. The First Congress of Bolshevik Workers said in 1918 that “we must remove children from the crude influence of their families. We must take them over, and to speak frankly, nationalize them. From the first days of their lives they will be under the healthy influence of children’s nurseries and schools.”
The Bolsheviks understood that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.
Chhelo,
I must be losing my touch. I thought I made that point in my post — clearly. I guess not
just kidding, I know you get it and were just piling on
Yes yes,
Since a “Department of Education” & kingergarten was created…
Since the Federal & State Governments have been indoctrinated…
OUR STUDENTS ABILITY TO THINK, THE PRODUCT OF OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM HAS GONE DOWN !
http://therionorteline.com/2012/10/18/dr-michio-kaku-describes-americas-achilles-heel-our-education-system/
WHY? More homework, more hours in school, “what to think” taught. Not enlightenment.
The Department of Education has to go!!!!!!!
Ken,
Teachers’ Unions, too. They are interconnected.
I’ll contact our new Senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, and see if he will draft a Bill to kill of the Dept. of Education. We know it won’t pass but it will show which Republicans really support conservative values. Looks like RINO’s McCain and Graham are already mad at him for firing all cylinders against Hagel and Kerry. The few conservatives we have need to start waging war against the animals running the farm and see if we can’t raise the spirit of “True American Citizens” that believe in adhering to the Constitution.
