This is another case of the Left saying something without saying it, but my title is exactly what this demagogue is saying. Here’s the story:
During a 30-minute speech at Western, a school briefly attended by Newtown shooter Adam Lanza, Biden laid down a challenge for those who he said unduly fear the powerful national gun lobby.
“If you are concerned about your political survival, you should be concerned about the survival of our children,” Biden said. “I can’t imagine how we will be judged if we do nothing. There is a moral price to be paid for inaction.
“The opposition throws up question after question because they are looking for roadblocks,” Biden said. “They say all you want to do is deny their rights under the Second Amendment. Not true.
“They say it’s not about guns. They are wrong. No law-abiding person should fear that their constitutional rights will be infringed in any way,” Biden said.
Now, if you are ignorant and have no idea what the Constitution actually says, and you have no understanding of the rules that govern individual rights and liberty, then Biden’s speech might sound reasonable to you – but only because you are ignorant. Biden knows this. In fact, he is depending on you to be ignorant, and with good reason: he is part of the political ideology that has commandeered our schools for the expressed purpose of teaching children to do as they are told and not to think:
Children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society which is coming where everyone is interdependent.
–John Dewey, father of modern American public education, Progressive founding father and card-carrying member of the American Communist Party – and Democrat!
However, if you know how to think, and you know the history of our founding, then you understand that last line – the one I bolded –actually refutes everything the man just said before it. It is found in the actual text of the 2nd Amendment:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
And, if you have a proper education, you understand that “shall not be infringed” means every gun control law – like the ones he is arguing for in this speech – are violations of your constitutional rights:
Definition of INFRINGE
1: to encroach upon in a way that violates law or the rights of another <infringe a patent>
Therefore, Biden is demanding that the government be allowed to trample our rights. By extension, this means, if you are reasonable and understand that this is a threat to your rights, you must not be a “law-abiding citizen.” But here is where I am going to say something that might surprise a lot of people: I agree with Biden: I am not a “law-abiding citizen”………as he understands the definition.
You see, this is how the Left can say things like this and vehemently believe their own words. This is how they can sleep at night: they believe what they are saying, and that it is correct. But before you can understand how this works, you have to understand Progressive-speak (this is what Orwell called doublespeak). All Biden has to do is mentally define “law-abiding” as a citizen who does what he tells them to do. And if you do what he tells you to do, you will accept that he gives you your rights, he and Obama. So, if he says you do not have a right to own a weapon, then that right cannot be trampled because you don’t have that right. And this is how the Liberal/progressive mind works. It’s how the RNL reader who told me Woodrow Wilson was not a Progressive can say what he said: he simply redefines the term in his own mind. Thus, an act of war is not an act of war, it is a “kinetic military action;” a tax is not a tax, it is a “contribution;” government welfare and social spending is not welfare and social spending, it’s “investment.” Do you see how this works?
But this story is helpful in another way. In the same story, we also see examples of several other truths I have tried to explain about the Liberal/Progressive agenda. Consider what this comment really means:
“We know we can’t save every single life,” Biden told a conference on gun violence. “But it’s simply unacceptable to not act.
This is a clear example of what I have tried to explain about the Left’s belief that morality is based in the collective and not the individual. Notice how – after appealing to saving a single life to make their case for gun control — the individual is now discarded and we are urged to act: act simply for the feel-good sake of acting. And this urge/demand to act is coupled to this notion:
U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., agreed.
“Newtown changed us all. What I saw was through the eyes of a parent,” Blumenthal said. “The world is different today, and Newtown has changed America.”
That comment is tied to Biden’s and to the Progressive ideology in general. At once, Blumenthal is saying there is no God and that, because there is no God, there is no fixed, universal notion of liberty, which – by extension – means there is no universal morality. In other words, things are what he and Biden say they are, and if you do not accept that, you are not “law-abiding.”
And this is what you are dealing with: people who firmly believe that there is no objective standard of right or wrong and that morality depends on what they decide is best for society. And that is the thinking that led to the murder of 120+ MILLION individuals during the last century. We must learn to recognize and explain so you can teach others how to recognize and explain it. If we don’t, if we remain blind to this, we will repeat the mistakes of 1930’s Germany – only, this time, we are a nation that could make that 120+ million look like a traffic accident. And, if you are one of those who is disagreeing with and looking for a way to refute me right now, understand: you are part of the problem and – YES – you are one of those people who supported the tyrants who murdered those 120+ million individuals.
