If You Think You Can ‘Lose’ Your Rights, You Don’t Understand Rights

I keep hearing people say that we need to “fight to keep our rights.”  Or that, if we don’t fight, we’ll “lose our rights.”  This is another example of what I mean when I say we have ALL internalized the Leftist ideology.  You can’t “lose” an inalienable right.  They can be trampled and infringed upon, and when that happens, it is called tyranny.  But they can never be taken.  Your rights do not come from government, or from men.  Therefore, they can never be taken.  To accept such a claim is to surrender your claim to your own will and your life.  Remember what our founders declared to be the self-evident truth about rights:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Stop accepting the Leftist ideology.  Start standing upon the foundational principles of Liberty!

  1. It appears the “low information” drones believe rights and goodies come from behemoth government. I’m proud of Ted Cruz, Rubio and a few others who approach the socialist democrats without fear, but the ignorance and stupidity is now so profound in the populace, that I fear there’s no reversal.

  2. God gave me my rights and no “man” nor government can take them a way. Though they slay me I will not bow. I’m prepared to help all that feel the same way. Scrituraly speaking we are commanded to obey laws established by a moral goverment however, when it requires you to sin against God you serve God not your worldly rulers. The best part, in the US, the people rule not the goverment. We fought a revolution that solved that problem.
