Sacred mystery: Blockbuster ratings for ‘The Bible’ confound Hollywood

According to the latest Nielsens, released Tuesday, Sunday night’s telecast of “The Bible,” produced by husband-and-wife team Mark Burnett and Roma Downey for basic cable’s History channel, managed to attract more viewers than anything on broadcast network NBC … during the entire week.

Even bigger was part one the week before, which amassed an audience of 13.1 million viewers, cable’s largest of the year. That series premiere topped the ratings for both of the week’s episodes of “American Idol.”

Here’s what you should take away from this:

1 – The next time someone tells you the media only produces what people want to watch, tell them they are wrong – period!  If that were the truth, then there would be more FOX News and Bible-related programming.

2 – The next time someone tries to tell you that people do not believe in God anymore, tell them they are wrong – period!  If that were the truth, then this story would be an abortion rather than the norm and it is the norm.  Every time religious programming like this is offered, it far exceeds the expectations and everyone in the media acts surprised.

3 – Which brings us to the last and one of the most important points.  The next time anyone tries to tell you the media represents the “main stream,” tell them they are not only wrong, but dead wrong – period, end of discussion.  The truth is, the “main stream” are the people watching this series and the reason “Hollywood” was surprised is because they are actually part of a minority – a minority that exists totally within a sealed community.  This applies equally to the leaders on the Left who claim theirs is the “majority opinion.”  Neither is reality.

That’s why I like to call the Leftist elite a cabal of Furbies: all they do is sit around jabbering repetitions of what the Furbie (Leftist) next to them just said.

Finally, the most important point to take away: after all the time and money they have spent to turn us away from the people we once were, they really haven’t turned us that far.  If we would just gather together and support each other again, we could destroy everything the Statists have tried to do in one fell swoop of a Revival.
