Bloomberg Demonstrates That I Am Correct About Him And Cass Sunstein

Do you remember my posts where I explain that the way these Leftist tyrants work is to ban things in a way that let them say they haven’t banned anything?  Well, here is a story where Bloomberg is clearly demonstrating that I am correct when I say that this is what Cass Sunstein advocates in his book, Nudge (and how all those on his team work):

Bloomberg On Soda Ban: ‘We’re Not Banning Anything’

MICHAEL BLOOMBERG, MAYOR, NEW YORK CITY: We’re not banning anything… Our job is to educate. It’s the public’s job to decide when they look on the grocery shelf or have the lever on a soda machine which thing to take, which product is in their interest. All we’re trying to do is educate. Hopefully, if they understand that they would be better off with one product or another they’ll make that intelligent choice.

There is so much here, so I’ll take it one at a time:

1 – He is lying.  He DID ban ‘big gulps’ – and he did so outside the normal legislative process.  That means, he dictated the law.

2 – He is equivocating.  When he says you can still go to the grocery store to buy large sodas and that this means he didn’t ban anything, they are not the same thing.  As I just mentioned, he DID ban the big gulp, so he banned your ability to buy those large drinks at many of the places they were once available.  He also banned your ability to buy large fountain drinks because you cannot buy those at the store.  So, any way we slice it, he is lying and equivocating.

3 — He has demonstrated the ‘nudge, push, shove’ method Cass Sunstein developed.  When he couldn’t talk people into not buying big gulps (nudge), he made them illegal (push).  Now he’s trying to ban weapons (push) and, when we resist, he will make us into criminals and jail us (shove).

4 – He claims his job is to “educate,” but it is not.  His job is to enforce the laws.  Not to make them,  Not to lecture us.  Not to do anything other than enforce the laws – PERIOD!  But, by asserting that his job is to educate, he affirms another thing I have been trying to explain to you: he thinks he knows better than we do, and that this gives him a moral obligation to save us from ourselves – by force, if necessary.

Put these things together and they spell T-Y-R-A-N-T.  And the arrogant, self-righteous jackwagons in New York City have forced this idiot on the rest of us by re-electing him.  If he would stay where he belongs – inside his city – I wouldn’t care.  The effect on the city would be poetic justice, but he is part of the Obama-Media-Education cabal and, as such, he is bringing his NAZI-like tactics to the rest of the nation and his sights are now set on our individual right to self-defense.

He is also telling you that he and his buddies plan to have cameras watching us everywhere we go within the next 5 years, so we’d better just get used to it.  To you think he is including everywhere he goes in that ‘everywhere’ h mentions?

So I say it again, Bloomber is a NAZI-like TYRANT!  And all of those who support him and/or his agenda are goose-stepping right along with him.

  1. “So I say it again … NAZI-like TYRANT! ”

And again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again …

    Yawn.

    • James,

You are an IDIOT! And over-educated idiot, but and IDIOT just the same.

Your students have paid to have a huge disservice — nay — injustice committed tot hem.

        • James,

You proved my point by making another of your straw man assertions. I didn’t call Bloomberg a NAZI, I said he is using NAZI-like tactics.

See, you ARE an IDIOT, and your students HAVE suffered a grievous injustice (they’ve had to pay to have an idiot for a teacher — and a disingenuous teacher at that).

    • Mr. McPherson,
If you find Joe so redundant and tiring why visit this site? Certainly, a big, important indoctrinator–er, I mean educator like yourself must have other things to keep you busy.

      • “If you find Joe so redundant and tiring why visit this site?”

I don’t near as often as I used to, Trap, before the election when the boys seemed to be more thoughtful (if delusional, thinking Obama would lose or be impeached), and even then I ignored most of Joe’s. Now I drop by every so often just so I can tweak them a bit. And don’t worry, it never takes much time to find something in need of correcting and/or worthy of ridicule–but thanks for your concern.

        • Well Mr McPherson you came off so smug and superior I just couldn’t help myself. You remind me somewhat of my brother in law who is a professor emeritus at UCLA. Maybe this type of attitude proliferates in academia?

          • And by the way, Trapp, though I don’t deny that I may come off that way at times, I find it amusing that you accuse me of sounding “smug and superior” when I respond to any post of Joe’s — especially one that starts with the words, “Do you remember my posts…, ” which in the second sentence boasts, “Bloomberg is clearly demonstrating that I am correct,” and which in the next-to-last sentence states, “So I say it again, Bloomber is a NAZI-like TYRANT!” (complete with capital letters). Then, in his very first comment, he reverts to his customary name-calling.

I suispect your problem with me has more to do with my opinions as with how I express them. But maybe I’m just being smug and superior in that view. ;-)

            • Mr McPherson,
I was only referring to your response to this post and only the first reply to Joe. The one where you typed the word “again” over and over and then finished up with “yawn.” I felt you were being demeaning and smug.

              Was I wrong?

  2. “. I didn’t call Bloomberg a NAZI”

Nor did I make any “straw man assertion” to the contrary. Keep working on those compehension skills, though–perhaps one day you can even take one of my classes. :-)
