If You Ignore Me because I’m a “Nutter,” then How about listening to a Marine Colonel?

I have come under attack for trying to explain to people that we are traveling a parallel path to that of 1930’s Germany – often from those who I thought friend.  Now, I’ve never said we are traveling the same path. This is a different country, with a different culture and heritage, so the specifics in our case will be and are different from those of 1930’s Germany.  But the path — the ‘spirit’ that is driving our course – is the same, and that’s why I see the similarities.  Why I have been attacked for simply stating the truth is beyond me, but I’m long past caring about it.  All I want is for people to listen and look at what is being said because it is the Truth.  So, if you have ignored me in the past because you discount my credibility, then how about if a combat Marine Colonel tells you?  Would you listen then?  Or do you know and understand enough history to understand that this is the message he is delivering to us in this story?

  1. Read, reflect, search for truth and discover understanding.

Open your eyes to truth, even when it’s not what you expected or wanted.

As Miyamoto Musashi explained in the 1643:
“The way to win … is to know the rhythms of the specific opponents, and use the rhythms that your opponents do not expect, producing formless rhythms from rhythms of wisdom.”

  2. I like this guy, he didn’t go off on liberals, call anybody a commie; just stated his case and expressed his concerns. Is Obama building a domestic army, answerable only to him? Hell, no, most of the cops the govt. has suppiied with these goon-squad toys are as likely to vote for Obama as they are for Whitey Bulger! Besides Obama already has the National Guard. But it is a definite possibility; we do have police agencies, local and national, who are spinning out of control. It is well-known that protestors, exercising their 1st Amendment rights, are being cordoned off, sequestered, if you please, away from prying eyes and ears. Cops are taking cell-phones and cameras from witnesses to their abuse, etc. The colonel has every right to be concerned.

This is not a left-right issue, this is Americans feeling the pinch of totalitarianism. Now, how many pinches does it take to wake the citizenry?

    • “This is not a left-right issue, this is Americans feeling the pinch of totalitarianism. Now, how many pinches does it take to wake the citizenry?”

You see, this is why no one who understands these things takes YOU seriously. Not a ‘Left” issue?!? You just admitted this is a totalitarian issue. So where do you think totalitarians fall on the political spectrum? Total government is on the far Left, Greg. No government is to the far Right. Do you now want to tell us that totalitarians are in the middle?

Oh, and one more thing: it doesn’t matter who the rank-and-file cops may or may not vote for: what matters is who gives them their orders and that person most DEFINITELY IS an Obama sycophant. So, once again, you are trying to deflect guilt away from the political ideology/agenda you support. Unfortunately for you and the rest of your sheep, you wear no clothes.

      • If you want to skewer me with semantic BS, feel free. If you want to imagine me naked, that too is your right.
Was Franco a communist? A leftie? No, he was a ruler, a king. His rule was iron and the people suffered. Franco fought communists. he wasn’t one, but he was no better.
As long as you play language games, you will win all arguments, but you will wind up alone, no one listening to you but your dogs

      • Notice the Bored looking lady sitting to his left……

A perfect example why what’s happening IS happening….the “official” then tells peopel they can’t Clap or Boo at this “official meeting”

There certainly ARE a lot of Blind people masquerading as “aware” and “thinking” in our country today.

  3. Is a “left-right” issue? Not so sure. Saw a documentary somewhere (internet, national news – don’t remember), where all (that’s ALL) local PDs and Sheriff’s departments are buying up left-over surplus military equipment from night-vision equipment to APCs and everything in between (body armor, weapons, etc). One land-locked PD had bought several suits of scuba equipment and a boat “just in case they ever needed it”, though the nearest body of water was a knee-deep stream. The chief said they would be the “best equipped” department in the area. The feds have so much of this stuff left from Iraq and Afghanistan they’re just giving it away.

      • Nah – That’s just a local power grab, Joe. The last Sheriff of Jackson County was a diehard Republican/Conservative, but he had “acquired” so many government surplus helicopters us locals referred to it as “JohnnyMac’s Airforce”. Law enforcement has come to the point where if they could have a M1 Abrams or a couple of .50 cal machine guns mounted on an APC, and M16s instead of the fully-automatic 3-round burst AR15s they have now, they would get them. They sell “safety and protection” to the public while arming themselves in a military manner (see how the SWAT teams are outfitted) and they are autonomous in the local areas.

          • I never said I disagree with the colonel. He has a point. What I’m not sure I agree with is the position that this is a “left” or “right” issue. Also, while the feds might (repeat – MIGHT) be forming their own version of a military-like force, these local cops all across the nation are doing it purely on their own – kinda like – who has the most toys has the biggest balls.

            • FC,

I didn’t post this as a Left/Right issue. I merely replied to Greg who objected to the implication (guilty conscience, if you ask me).

That said, EVERY TIME the govt. does something it is not authorized to do, or that it has no business doing, it is a power grab. A power grab is big govt. Big govt. is a creature of the Left. This is a truth, and that is all I am saying.

  4. I agree that EVERY TIME the gov’t does something it’s not authorized to do, its a power grab. I also believe the right is as guilty of Big Government as the left.

    • Right now the left is in power – they’re grabbing everything they can for when the day comes they’re no longer in power.

    • FC,

You are equivocating. You must think I mean Democrat=Left and Republican=Right. I do not. I mean Tyranny=Left and Liberty=Right. If you have been reading me for any length of time, you should know this by now.

      • Not equivocating at all. I mean Dem=Left and Rep=Right (not ever quite sure what you mean). I stick by what I said; when the Ds are in power like they are now, they appoint Supreme Court Judges and pass laws that favor their progressive BS way of thinking. When the Rs hold the White House or control the Senate and the House, they do the same thing.

Edit – If the progressives, libertarians, or communist held the WH, they would do the same thing.

        • FC,

See, you think I am wrong because you are talking apples to my oranges. The differnce is, I saw and understood you were speaking apples, and I can make the jump back and forth, but you can neither see or understand my oranges, nor make the jump back and forth. All you know is to tell me I am wrong when you don’t even know what I am saying (you just said so)

          • Don’t let that paranoia get to you, Joe. I’ve never said you were wrong. Those are your words, not mine. I said I don’t agree with some of the statements made on this thread. Me disagreeing with you doesn’t make you wrong, we just see the same issue a little differently.

            • FC,

I’m not paranoid: you said this is not a Left/Right thing (go check your comments). I had said it was a Leftist thing. So you WERE implying that I was wrong as you made an assertion in contradiction to mine. THIS is what I am addressing — not the original pint of my post (which is what I assume you say you agree with me about in principle).

              • Melfamy –
This is not a left-right issue, this is Americans feeling the pinch of totalitarianism. Now, how many pinches does it take to wake the citizenry?

Is a “left-right” issue? Not so sure.

Actually, it appears to me that Melfamy and I agreed with you all the way down the line, except that I did specify in my post that Dem=Left and Rep=Right. Then you go on to talk about Obama sycophants giving orders. If you meant tyranny v. liberty then it seems you, Melfamy and I are saying the same thing – big government is all same, same; Ds, Rs, Libertarians, Progs, Communists, etc., all equal big government. It’s not a case of one versus the other. Its all tyranny or totalitarianism. Each or either party wants to rule totally.

  5. Homeland Security is a new National Police Force. Look at what they are starting to do. Police the interstate highways. Stopping truckers and inspecting them in the name of security. Is it not the job of the local police and state police to do this job. The problem of the tactics used is a problem but ultimately the local police are still under the control of our local governments. The Homeland Security is under the control of the President. There was never supposed to be a National Police Force. Closest thing was the U.S. Marshal which was created to police those areas of Federal Land not under a State’s jurisdiction.

    • triper – Shipping port security also falls to the Coast Guard or local port security forces, but Homeland Security plays a major role in what moves in and out of US ports. Homeland Security was created (somewhat rightly so) by a Republican president after a terrorist attack on US soil. Like any and all government agencies, it has gotten bigger, although Obama promised (in his 2008 campaign) less authority or more transparency. The simple truth is HS will continue to grow.

  6. When I lived in Panama, the Guardia Nacional was the true police force; the local cops were a joke, riding around in Volkswagens made in Venezuela.

  7. FC – The militarization of the local police forces is not a national police force. It is a method of policing that assumes all the people are scum bags and to be treated as such, it ultimately alienates the people that pay for the police until they change the methods locally. Our local police are still under the control of the local government. In no way can the Federal Government nationalize these police and expect loyalty.

The HS Department however is a federal police force that seems to increasingly believe they have jurisdiction over all local areas within the borders regardless of state and county jurisdictions. These are the people to look out for as they are under the direct control of the President. Just as the military are under his direct control.
