Worthless and Dangerous

If there is an organization more worthless and anti-American than the Obama administration, the UN is it.

Koran burning? America must be punished!

Syria destroying Homs and killing its own people and international journalists? Silence.

This past week, we were witness to the murder of Americans due to what was described by American authorities as a accidental burning of some Korans. Obama’s first instinct was consistent and foreseeable – he apologized. The apology was evidently not accepted because more people were killed in a homicide bombing at the Jalalabad Airport. Reports have that casualty count at 9.

More Americans were killed yesterday:

An Afghan solider and literacy teacher at a joint base in southern Afghanistan killed two Americans Thursday.

Both soldiers were killed in response to the burning of Qurans by U.S. soldiers on Feb, 20. This marks the sixth death of Americans in Afghanistan in response to the incident.

The deaths coincided with the top NATO commander’s approval of a small number of foreign advisers to return to work at Afghan ministries. The foreign advisers were on lock down in secure locations for more than a week because of the four previous American deaths.

This, folks, is an example of post-modern appeasement cloaked in “diplomacy”.

Obama’s apology was unequivocal in assumption of responsibility for burning the Islamic holy books – but the root cause was what? According to military intel, these particular books had been confiscated because they were being used as a communication tool for passing messages between inmates at a detention facility in Afghanistan.

How was this an American mistake? Seems to me that we did exactly what should have been done.

The question has to be asked is when does a book cease to be holy and become an instrument to facilitate actions that can harm Americans? Did the people who altered the book in the first place not desecrate these Korans or is that just another contravention or acceptable lie that can be used to defeat your enemies?

As Glenn Reynolds remarks:

Remember, comrades, it is only bourgeois truth that is concerned with actual facts. Revolutionary truth is concerned with what advances the revolution. That is the truth we should be embracing.

The UN is as worthless as Obama’s State Department:

The United Nations joined Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Thursday in calling on the U.S. military to take disciplinary action against those who burned copies of the Koran at a NATO air base, calling the incident a “grave mistake”.

Despite an apology from U.S. President Barack Obama, the burning of the Muslim holy book at the Bagram base north of the capital ignited a wave of anti-Western fury across the country.

At least 30 people were killed in protests, including two American soldiers who were killed by an Afghan soldier who joined the demonstrations.

“After the first step of a profound apology, there must be a second step … of disciplinary action,” Jan Kubis, special representative for the U.N. secretary-general in Afghanistan, told a news conference.

“Only after this, after such a disciplinary action, can the international forces say ‘yes, we’re sincere in our apology’,” added Kubis, without elaborating on what action should be taken.

Obama, in a letter of apology to Karzai last week, said the burning of copies of the Koran had been “inadvertent” and an “error”.

I’m with Newt Gingrich on Afghanistan:

“We’re not going to fix Afghanistan. It’s not possible. These are people who have spent several thousand years hating foreigners.”

Mr Gingrich added: ‘There’s some problems where what you have to do is say “You know, you’re going to have to figure out how to live your own miserable life because I’m not here – you clearly don’t want to hear from me how to be unmiserable,”‘.

  1. “How was this an American mistake? Seems to me that we did exactly what should have been done.”

This was not an American mistake.

Look, I have friends that are Muslims, and I know the measure of their grace. When you cross a Christan, there is not this insane violent response. However, when you cross a Muslim, the response is clear, and irrefutable.

I’m with Gingrich, and a host of others. Time to pull the troops out, and bring them home. It’s also time for the American people to exert some force on to their POTUS. This man was elected to represent us, the people. And frankly, if the people do not want their POTUS placating Muslim sensitivities, then by God he should not. And if he cannot because of his religious beliefs, then he should advocate his throne, and allow the people a new POTUS to represent them.

  2. The irony is (at least from what I’ve read) is that the Muslim prisoners understood why their Korans were being burned….. Now my mind is thinking of a show called 24. They had an episode where this passing of messages was done in this manner…..

So you’re with Newt on Afganistan but not Paul? *scratches head*

  3. Kells, I did not comment on Paul either for, or against. I responded to the named politician cited by the O.P.

I am curious, how did you extrapolate that I chose a side concerning Ron Paul?
