The American Arab Spring

Van Jones, being the environmentally conscious leftist that he is,  is recycling the #Occupy[yournamehere] hippies and the “we are the 99%” meme for one more go.

Didn’t really work the first time around, did it?

He wants an Arab spring? I was hoping they would find the Irish Spring.

But now they have and labor union money behind them…isn’t there something deliciously ironic about a labor group backing people who don’t actually, you know, labor at anything?

“¡Viva la Revolución!”, I suppose.

About a year ago I rhetorically asked: Are Contemporary Unions Just Marxist Incubators?

Van Jones, the ever helpful former “Green Czar”, and his little group of community organizing* commies definitively answer that question.

You bet they are.

Via the Washington Examiner:

An Egypt-styled “Arab Spring,” which has put radicals in charge of the government, will be launched in the United States this spring with a war on “corporate power, Wall Street greed and the political corruption of the 1 percent,” according to the group headed by former Obama green aide Van Jones.

“They’re really not going to like the 99 percent Spring,” said Rebuild the Dream in an organizing email Friday.

Comparing the collection of protests last year that are symbolized by the 99 percent campaign and Occupy movement, to those of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., the group said that “we were all inspired by the protesters of the Arab Spring who stood up to totalitarian governments, and inspired the Occupy movement here in America.”

The plan for now is to hold protest training sessions around the nation next week. Over 900 are scheduled so far.

Once ready, the group and dozens of others, notably and labor unions, will launch the “99 Percent Spring” offensive against government and financial centers.

“We’re at a crossroads as a country. In recent years, millions have lost their jobs, homes have been foreclosed, and an unconscionable number of children live in poverty. We have to stand up to the people who caused of all this and confront the rampant greed and deliberate manipulation of our democracy and our economy by a tiny minority in the 1%,” said Caroline Murray, of Rebuild the Dream Innovation Fund, in the organizing email.

* Question – how do you “organize” if your community doesn’t have a home? Or does a gaggle of shiftless hippies, drug dealers and rapists huddled in a public park constitute a “community”?

  1. I’m sorry, but the bar of Irish Spring brought back some $##$^*&(*)*&%##@ painful memories. It is only the second worst in taste to that *&^$%$%* Felsnapthas! ………………I’m okay now……………….um, what the hello was I going to say? Oh!!

*Answer: The answer is simple: We have a community organizer as the Commander-in-Chief. He’ll handle it.

Now, just a few of my own questions: Will the women from FEMEN be conducting these protest-training sessions? If so, is part of the citeria to attending a session one of having tiny titties? Lastly, do you think I could teach a course on what the actual use of soap is ?(not that I have an oral fixation or anything…..)

  2. Utah,

Not sure if this was intentional or not, but I couldn’t help making the connection.

IF you know what you are doing, you can make a rather nasty little explosive device from a bar of Irish spring soap (learned this courtesy of the USMC).

Now, what do you think: hidden connections or just a strange coinkydink?

      • It is a soap…and an explosive device! Who knew?

Kells, you are right – it is time for a Femen newsletter…I am the editor after all.
