The Strength of Obama’s Committment to the Gay Community…

…is a lot like his commitment on most things – all hat and no cattle. Don’t forget, the promises with this one all come with an expiration date. This one was stillborn. Since the liberals worship abortion, maybe he aborted it.

The Washington Examiner reports:

President Obama declared his personal support for same-sex marriage yesterday, but the White House chose not to push for the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act today.

“Well, party platform issues are for the party to decide,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said when asked if Obama would call for the repeal of DOMA and endorsement of pro-gay marriage language in the party platform.  “That process is underway, and I refer you to the DNC on the question about the platform.”

He added that “the President’s belief that DOMA ought to be repealed is well stated.”

Carney refused to disclose when Obama actually completed the process of “evolving” towards support for gay marriage. “I don’t have a specific date for you,” he said.

Jay Carney is a little sniveling crapweasel of a man, a perfect match for his boss.

BHO is personally for it but his support isn’t strong enough to motivate him to any substantive action on behalf of the gay community. He feels your pain…but face it – in reality, he’s just not that into you.

Give the guy a break, he is trying to thread the needle between the wealthy gay donors and the a socially conservative and religious black community that opposes gay marriage by a margin of 62% to 38% – just shy of 2:1. That bastion of conservatism, National Public Radio, says:

It’s a legitimate question because blacks, compared with other groups that make up the Democratic political base, have been the most resistant to an expansion of gay rights.

Obama did not set a “world precedent”. Hell, Dick Cheney said the same thing in 2009…and he even has a gay daughter. Cheney said:

“People ought to be free to enter into any kind of union they wish, any kind of arrangement they wish.”

Actually, Cheney made a far stronger statement than Obama’s craven and calculated message.

I hate to say it – no, actually, I don’t – I told you so.

But Look!, shouts the Washington Post in roughly 5400 words – Romney cut a gay boy’s hair once and as Ace says, Mitt Romney’s Vicious High School Prank Against A Likely-Gay Classmate Led Inexorably To The Victim’s Death By Natural Circumstances 46 Years Later

Question: since liberals are for homosexual unions, abortion and contraception, does that mean that they hate children?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Oh, yeah. May we please call Obama a liar now?

  1. Question: since liberals are for homosexual unions, abortion and contraception, does that mean that they hate children?

Actually – and I am serious here – I believe it’s indicative of the general sense of Misanthropy associated with the Leftist ideology.

    • Incidentally,

I have a friend in broadcasting, and he tells me news outlets have a tracking program that tells them what stories people are reading most on the internet in real time. It seems Obama’s endorsement of gay marriage is not in the top ten – at least, not as of 12 PM CST today.

      • That’s because rational people know he is an opportunistic liar. B, this was a big mistake on his part. He outsmarted himself on this one, many of his friends in the media are laughing at him on this one. This is so absurd that the media types who are spinning for him now are going to lose any credibility that they might have imagined that they had. Now the gay community knows how deep BHO’s contempt for them is and that he has exactly zero respect for them.

It is funny…in a deeply pathetic kind of way.

        • But how deeply does this belief that they are in the majority run in Leftist circles? I remember some lefty complaining that she couldn’t understand how Reagan won because no one she knew voted for him. How much of that is at play here, and how deep/strong is it?

  2. I don’t believe liberals hate children; they just have a different ideology that they stubbornly stand by. I have a girlfriend (big lib) who lost her 6-year-old daughter to cancer and is now writing a book to donate to hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses so that other people in the same boat may understand how to cope with this profound loss. I can attest that she doesn’t hate kids.

    President Obama is two-faced.
