When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – you may know that your society is doomed.
We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force.

Prophecy fulfilled.
I think we are there……………….
When the SCOTUS can claim something is legit only because it is a tax, but the politicians that started it can still swear it isn’t a tax but still legal, we are there…………..
As I explained in “About The Blog”, I named this blog after a railroad in Rand’s Atlas Shrugged:
Agree or not with Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism or her views on religion, one has to admit that her political savvy and her prescience is undeniable. She is the political equivalent of Nostradamus for as she has foretold, so it has occurred.
She and F.A. Hayek should be the best selling authors of 2012 because after people read Atlas and The Road to Serfdom, there is no way that a Democrat would ever hold national elective office again.
Well, I know I mustn’t call you a Randy Christian – that joke didn’t fly. How’s bout a song instead? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVwNjYd5Z5Q
Very true, my friend. But in the end, even Dagney went galt 😉
