PolitiFact Grudgingly Finds Second True Fact About Romney

Romney is a silver spoon baby, right? Just another rich guy living off Daddy’s money?

Well, not quite.

Reince Priebus stated something the other night that is common knowledge in my adopted home state of Utah, that Mitt gave away his inheritance:

And that’s what a convention is all about, telling the Mitt Romney story about a good, decent man that gave away his father’s inheritance and everything he did, he did with– to success. And I think that both Republican and Democratic parents are wishing for their kids’ success and the American dream, and not the glass-half-empty America that Barack Obama is trying to sell this country.

You can here the PolitiFact “fact-checkers” hissing through their clenched teeth when they wrote this:

Reince Priebus says that Romney “gave away his father’s inheritance.”

…We find the evidence supports the claim and we see nothing to contradict it. If any evidence emerges, we’ll review it. But in the meantime, we rate Priebus’ claim True.

Romney is exactly what he says he is. He is rich, he did make his own money, he is a principled God-fearing family man, he has helped people with his personal wealth, his time and his influence. He has built businesses and suffered the failure of some.

One of the greatest differences between Romney and Obama is that Romney has put his personal assets and the livelihood of his own family at risk to create value. Obama has never done that. In his adult life, he has never been personally at risk for failure. He has always used other people’s money to prosecute his plans.

  1. This isn’t a case of a man starting out with nothing after turning down a fortune. Bain Capital was already four years old when Romney Sr. died. I thought that the initial scenario was the case when I first started reading, I was ready to shuck the election, and just move the guy into 1600 Pa., posthaste.
Even for a rich man who did not need the money, Romney’s giving of his inheritance to the Mormon Church is the mark of a generous, very generous man. A good man, not greedy, not selfish.
I am worrying less and less about having these guys run the country. Trust me on this, I have never given a Republican slate more support.

But please, Mitt, from now on, let the dog ride IN the car! 🙂

So, in other words, Romney is EVERYTHING the Left tells us we’re supposed to be, and he has lived the life they say we’re all supposed to live???

So what’s their hang-up with voting for him, then?

Unless, unless they’ve been lying all these many years…

[note: this is not intended to be a personal endorsement, just an illustration of hypocrisy.]

    • B – You gotta admit that with what we have seen this week with Ryan and Romney – and the young bench strength – we do have a chance to turn this battleship around…

You are getting closer every day to a Romney vote…

      • I’ve already confessed as much. But it is more because of the people he is putting around him. I still have not heard him say anything to show me he has changed what he claims to be his core progressive ideology. I would feel a lot better if he had a moment like this 🙂

    • B & Utah,
Romney & Ryan are the antithesis of everything the Statists/Democrats stand for.
      Principled
      Bellieve in G-d.
      Responsible
      Successful
      Discern between Right and Wrong.
      Hold people and ideas accountable.

These are American values which “THEY/self described democrats” must defeat in order to prevail…
