Save the Earth from Global Warming: Put Out the Sun!

Do you think the title of my post is hyperbole?  It isn’t.  The fact — FACT — is that global temperature changes are almost directly correlated tot he sun’s activity — NOT to CO2.  This is from The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming:

Now, let me cut the global warming supporters off at the pass.  They will claim that the correlation between the sun’s activity and global temperature changes only works if you “cherry pick” the data.  the truth is, global warming only works when you both cherry pick data and use a skewed baseline by which to measure the long-term global temperature fluctuations.  There is plenty of solid evidence to support a correlation between the sun’s activity and the temperature (keep in mind, the same data often shows a bit of a lag between the two – no one is asserting they are directly connected and proportionate):

Correlation of global temperature with solar activity

Solar Activity Between 1250-1850 Linked To Temperature Changes In Siberia

ScienceDaily (Dec. 22, 2008) — An ice core drilled at the Belukha glacier in the Siberian Altai by a Swiss-Russian research team under the leadership of the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in 2001 has now provided new findings in climate research. Oxygen isotopes in the ice were used to reconstruct the temperatures in the Altai over the past 750 years.

The scientists discovered a strong link between regional temperatures and the solar activity in the period 1250-1850, concluding that the sun was an important driver of preindustrial temperature changes in the Altai.

Now, I’m not arguing that any of this proves that climate change is NOT happening — I know it is.  I know it has ALWAYS happened.  It is an on-going natural process.  However, I know enough about science to know that the claims of man-made climate change cannot be supported — at least, not until we KNOW (100% beyond shadow of a doubt KNOW) how ALL changes in the past happened and can account for them within a few percentage points.  Until that time, science — real science, the type not spoiled by political agenda — tells us that we do not know enough to know how any of this is caused.  We can only note correlations, and correlation is not causation.

So, what does that leave us with?  it leaves us with an apparent connection between the sun’s activity and global temperature fluctuations and no to only weak connections between global temperature changes and CO2 levels.  We can use CO2 as a weapon against Capitalism, but we can’t put out the sun.  So I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions, but those who have studied and understand the history of the Progressive/Communist/Socialist agenda see through the facade that we know as “Global Warming/Climate Change.”

Just to put a point on my point, here’s a little “blast” from the past:

Don’t Miss it! Climate Depot’s Factsheet on 1970s Coming ‘Ice Age’ Claims

‘Fears of a coming ice age, showed up in peer-reviewed literature, at scientific conferences, by prominent scientists and throughout the media’

Earth Day predictions of 1970. The reason you shouldn’t believe Earth Day predictions of 2009.

No, seriously, go click on those links and just skim through them.  You’ll see.  There’s even a claim by Time that the CIA was in on “proving” we should all be stuck in a block of ice right now.

  1. at least, not until we KNOW (100% beyond shadow of a doubt KNOW) how ALL changes in the past happened and can account for them within a few percentage points

That is an impossible standard, B, I think you know that.

There is a lot we don’t know, and Mudda Naitcha has ways of correcting systems. Even Al Gore admits that microrganisms in the soil are taking up more CO2 than predicted. But what change will that bring? The ice melt in Greenland has to have affected the Earth’s overall albedo rate, currently .39, which indicates the amount of light hitting the earth that is reflected back into space. The more heat the Earth retains, the hotter it gets

Personally, I’d rather be a good steward of the Earth, and recycle, curb pollution, stop wasting energy, drive more fuel-efficient cars, etc. It certainly doesn’t hurt, it saves money in the long run, and clean air and water are good for what ails us.

    • But you would use govt. to FORCE others to do as YOU think best. I see why you like Soros: you think YOU are qualified to be the conscience of the world, as well.

Oh, and before you go accusing me of wanting to pollute simply because I do not want you telling me how to live — DON’T! You know bloody well I don’t believe that, so don’t insult me, the RNL readers or yourself by even thinking about going there.
