Welcome To The New State Protected Religion

There is perhaps no better example of the fecklessness and mendacity of the Democrats, the “progressives” and their other fellow travelers than the handling of the current situation in the Middle East and the assaults on our embassies, consulates and diplomatic corps stationed there.

Their position is clear. There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger…and it is the job of the Obama administration to protect the new state sponsored religion.

Christians in America have been called “bitter clingers” by our president, we are assailed on our position on abortion, the Catholic church suffers a full frontal assault from the Obama administration for its teachings on contraception, references to the God of Christians (and all mankind) is voted against by at least half of the delegates (perhaps more) at the recent Democratic National Convention and leftists on this very site have called God a myth and Christian beliefs ridiculous…and yet these very people have the temerity to support statements like these that were issued by official representatives of the American people:

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.

That was the first statement from the Cairo Embassy. It is now scrubbed from the website and was replaced by this one:

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

Just exactly what does “abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others” mean?

In this context, it means that there should be restrictions on free speech. This statement implies that there should be controls placed on thoughts and opinion and that the government has the right to establish what those thoughts can be, especially where Islam is concerned.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tweeted:

The U.S. deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.

Gee. Wouldn’t that be great if the political left was that sensitive toward Christianity?

Remember the infamous Robert Mapplethorpe and Piss Christ?

;

I don’t remember Christians burning consulates or killing ambassadors.

Screw the Constitution, right?

Mike Barnicle and Donny Deutsch discussed Pastor Terry Jones on MSNBC. Apparently, if Muslims kill people over how the Prophet Muhammad is portrayed in a film produced in the United States, The Department of Justice should now prosecute them.

MIKE BARNICLE: Given this supposed minister’s role in last year’s riots in Afghanistan, where people died, and given his apparent or his alleged role in this film, where, not yet nailed down, but at least one American, perhaps the American ambassador is dead, it might be time for the Department of Justice to start viewing his role as an accessory before or after the fact.

DONNY DEUTSCH: I was thinking the same thing, yeah.

Free speech. Don’t sweat it if it goes away, it’s for losers anyway.

There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger…and it is the job of the Obama administration to protect the new state sponsored religion.

  1. You have hit another bulls-eye…………
especially this “Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. ” It was until Jan. 20, 2009.

This episode going on in the Arab world is nothing less than an attack on America, but our worthless POS POTUS won’t do as he swore to do 3 & 1/2 years ago.

  2. “Just exactly what does “abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others” mean?”

You’re familiar with Oliver Wendell Holmes famous “shouting fire in a crowded theater” writing?

And you do realize that the evidence is increasingly pointing to this be an orchestrated by a couple of Egyptian Coptic Christians in the US, in conjunction with right wing “Christians” Pastor Terry Jones and Steve Klein to release a version of this (protected) hate speech to the Arabic world on 9/11 with the sole intent to provoke a violent reaction?

And you do realize the evidence is saying that the attack in Libya was “preplanned”- and that this deliberate attempt to provoke a reaction was the window to do just that?

    FFS.

    • Drug boy; where the hello are you coming from? Left field? From my understanding, it was a silly video that caused the provocation. So now, are you advocating shutting everyone the hello up to please another group that wants to be heard? Well, I reckon it’s similar to robbing from Peter to pay Paul, huh? (Like entitlement programs?)

      • “So now, are you advocating shutting everyone the hello up to please another group that wants to be heard? ”

Kells, drugs is a totalitarian. He advocates removing any liberty you ever had … one increment at a time.

    • Drugs: Unless I missed something, yelling “fire” in a crowded theater is not an opinion about whether I find fire appealing or disgusting.

May I educate you on a little case law – the Supreme Court held in Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969) that even speech directly advocating violence may not be criminalized, “except where such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action.”

So there are no grounds to criminalize a movie based on fear of how someone might interpret it. Yelling “fire” in a crowded theater meets that exact definition, saying Muhammad liked to have sex with prepubescent little girls doesn’t.

So your thesis is that Klein and Jones were coordinating with the killers in Benghazi to kill Americans there? We now have to curtail rights of Americans because our opinions might offend someone in another country? We are supposed to be afraid to condemn a sham religion because someone might get their feelings hurt?

Funny, you don’t seem to be too afraid to denigrate Christianity while enjoying First Amendment protections…

So tell me, genius, under your definition of prohibited speech, where does this statement fit:

“They dropped god from the party platform? Finally. WTF does a mythological critter have to do with anything?”

Could this be something said or interpreted to provoke a deliberate violent reaction?

Because that was you…but oh, wait – you are protected by the First Amendment. Your position is that what you say is only worthy of criminalization if I am willing to commit a crime in reaction to it. You know I am not, so you feel safe to make it.

Lets do a little test. Take 20 minutes today and find the church of any US Christian denomination, stand outside and yell, “God is A Fornicator” and see what happens. Most likely nothing – you might get shouted at, but that’s all.

We will pay for you a ticket to run over to Cairo and say that about Allah or Muhammad in front of any mosque there.

Better pay up your life insurance and pick up a little K-Y Jelly before you go.

You are advocating the equivalent of anti-blasphemy law but any law against blasphemy would, in addition, violate the constitutional guarantee to freedom of religion and the prohibition on government establishment of religion.

Might want to rethink your position.

Christians on this site aren’t burning your house and sodomizing you, we just continue to expose you for the moron you are, albeit with a substantial amount of your help.

      Pathetic.
