Here, this may help some people understand how far down the rabbit hole we’ve fallen in our understanding of the Constitution and how it works:
Cpl. Joshua Boston, the U.S. Marine whose scathing open letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) over proposed new gun control legislation went viral, again vowed not to abide by any new law requiring him to register his firearms.
“Whatever happens happens. I have a right granted to me by the Second Amendment in our bill of rights and it says ‘shall not be infringed,’” Boston said Saturday on CNN. “Unconstitutional laws aren’t laws.”
Boston’s letter, titled “No ma’am,” was first posted on CNN’s iReport on Dec. 27 and quickly made the rounds on social media.
“I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America,” the eight-year Marine Corps veteran wrote.
You really need to read the rest of this story.
Now, here’s the part of this equation you need to understand, and the part where the fair-weather patriot parts from the real patriots:
If you mean this, you must be prepared to live it. In this case, it means we may well have to face prison time because we refuse to comply with their tyranny. It also means that, if other patriot are imprisoned for standing up for their rights, you and I must be prepared to go to their defense — even to the point of prison ourselves.
Now, notice that I did not say anything about picking up arms. To be honest with you, this nation is no longer moral enough to do that and succeed. If we try that route, we will become France circa 1787-1799. No, our models are MLK, Gandhi and Jesus Christ. If 100 Americans die in an aborted attempt to defend our rights with arms, all that happens is the rest will cower and the tyrants will have their excuse to slam the doors shut on individual rights and liberty forever. But, if thousands of Americans — those who make this nation work — show that they are willing to go to jail before they surrender their rights and liberty, then that will force the tyranny from the halls of government and justice because even the tyrants know they cannot stand in the face of such opposition — especially when that opposition stands on the side of righteousness.
