I was reading this story when I figured out how to solve our poverty problem:
8.5 Million Americans Left Labor Force In Obama’s First Term
The Bureau of Labor Statistics released jobs numbers for January Friday showing that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 157,000 and the unemployment rate rose to 7.9 percent.
Lost in these headline numbers was another rise in the number of people not in the labor force.
This number now stands at a staggering 89 million, up from 80.5 million when President Obama took office.
This means that there are currently 8.5 million more Americans not in the labor force than just four years ago.
Reading this it suddenly hit me. OK, hold on to your seat, I am about to solve poverty.
I hereby declare 90% off all people in “poverty” to be “off the roles” — they are “no longer in poverty.”
TA-DA! Done. Poverty solved. Now, since we no longer need welfare, healthcare or any other type of social support because everyone is now rich, I hereby declare the tax rates cut to 3-5% of GDP (that should cover the military and foreign affairs).
See how easy it is to fix your problems — IF you control the media, that is. If you don’t, and they actually report the TRUTH to the people, well…then it might not be so easy because you’ll be forced to deal with the real world. But since I am using Lefty-Logic, that’s not a problem, is it?
And THAT’S how they can sleep soundly at night. Good job! (rather, no jobs)
According to the govt, we need 104,116 NEW jobs monthly (one and a quarter million yearly) in order to keep up with the US population growth. That adds up to 5 million in OWEbozo’s first term. Since we actually lost 8.5 million jobs and didn’t add any, we are 13 million jobs in the hole thanks to OWEbozo’s policies.
