Here’s the story:
With a string of pro-Islam, anti-Israel and anti-Western stances to his credit, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan is fast-making his mark as anything but the moderate leader of a country that once sought to emulate countries like Germany, rather than theocracies like Iran.
His latest controversial remarks came while speaking at the Fifth Alliance of Civilizations Forum in Vienna’s Hofburg Palace this week when he stated that Islamophobia must be regarded as a crime against humanity” in the vein of anti-Semitism and fascism. What’s more, the prime minister included Zionism as being akin to fascism and alas, yet another crime against humanity.
“Just like Zionism, anti-Semitism and fascism, it becomes unavoidable that Islamophobia must be regarded as a crime against humanity,” Erdoğan said, before he condemned political leaders who he claimed defame religion.
Stop! Read that again, and read it carefully this time.
First, let’s be clear: this man’s claims are riddled with fallacious assertions. Zionism is merely the support for an Israeli State. In no way can Zionism be called fascism, nor can it be called a crime against humanity. Nor can you compare the Jews to Islam. One is considered a race, the other a religion. To declare Jews to Islam is to compare Whites to Catholicism – something to which I think you’d find many, many millions of ethnic people will object. Finally, if this man wants to talk about fascism, he needs to look to the historic connections between Hitler and the Muslim Brotherhood, not to the Jews.
Now, I have gone over this until I’m blue in the face, and if you want to re-hash it, you can look up my old posts, or search the RNL archives under the subject of “Islam,” but the fact remains that it is not “Islamaphobia” to have a healthy concern for a religion whose leaders and whose holy books all call for the elimination or subjugation of everyone who refuses to become a Muslim, and whose leaders have openly declared their intentions to eliminate your nation and/or religion from the face of the earth. To be wary of such people is not “Islamaphobia,” it’s called prudence. And to take precautions against future attacks on your people is called self-defense.
This man is trying to use an emotional connection to shield – by force of international law – the very thing he claims to be trying to fight: hatred of others. Only, in this case, it is not the Jews who have said they will kill all Muslims, it’s the Muslims who have said they will kill all Jews. If you do not believe me, read the RNL archives where I have quoted the Qur’an and Hadith profusely. This man is turning lie into truth and truth into lie and those who accept his argument are his willing allies. Agree with this man and you are no better than the people who agreed with and supported Hitler.
Heed this warning: Ignore these people at your own peril. We did, and it led to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. We continued to ignore them and it led to 9/11. Ignore them again and it could lead to the end of this nation – and don’t dismiss me. They won’t, because that is exactly what they have said they are planning.
