  1. Isn’t it funny how people such as Ronnie, and many of us here on the RNL can accurately predict what the govt. will do in the future and it comes to pass, yet the Left’s predictions NEVER come to pass?

I’m not sure how many people will hear this audio and scoff, especially at the assertion Reagan made that the govt. will eventually TELL our children what they will do for a living, but this is EXACTLY what the founder of the modern American education system, John Dewey, believed the role of govt. schools was: to TELL our kids what they are “suited” to do, and then “socialise” them to accept it and do it:

To find out what one is fitted to do, and to secure an opportunity to do it, is the key to happiness.
    –John Dewey

NOTE: He did not say to do what one wants to do, but to “find out” what one is “suited” to do. For Dewey, it was the teachers’ task to do this (naturally, it was all to be based on “science,” the same sort of “science” of the day that determined blacks were “inferior” to whites — but then, that wasn’t the Progressives fault, it was “science,” just like the “science that said we were going into an ice age in the 70’s and a global warming in the 90’s.)

And less anyone think that Dewey did not mean to tell students what they were going to do and then teach them to accept it:

“Education is a regulation of the process of coming to share in the social consciousness; and that the adjustment of individual activity on the basis of this social consciousness is the only sure method of social reconstruction.”

Now, Common Core will pick up where Dewey left off. Socialism at its finest. 😦

  2. What fools we are…
With 45 years of warning, and we still FELL FOR IT!
I’ve heard that lemming don’t really march off cliffs to their demise, they’re way too smart for that.
    Apparently,
    humans AREN’T!

    • I’m not a big Ron or Rand Paul fan but I applaud his stance and that of Ted Cruz against these political elites who are gradually stealing our liberty.

      • I agree,
As much as I loved Ronald Reagan, His biggest fault was he made (Unknowingly) people think ALL repubs were like him.
Now that we know the truth, as the black clouds once again gather on the horizon.
we just might have found someone with the charisma, the foresight, and the no nonsense straight fowardness that was Reagan.
The founding fathers wrote out in very easy to understand terms what our government is allowed to do
It shouldn’t take a brain surgeon to figure it out.

        But then again,

        MAYBE IT WILL!
        🙂

  3. Be wary of allowing medical types in government, though. They are the biggest statists of them all, with very few exceptions.

  4. “Governments will always find a ‘need’ for the money they get.” True! What is the seductive allure of socialism that we are still fighting the same fight?

    • I think it a mix of Assumed Security from those who don’t feel they can do it themseves…..and those like Karl and Malfamy who just want others Stuff and want the state to secure others property for them.

  5. Of course, Reagan–who raised taxes repeatedly, expanded government and the deficit, supported gun control, signed an immigration “amnesty” bill, and lied about (or “misremembered”) his own military service–wouldn’t have a prayer of getting elected as a Republican today. It’s fun to see conservatives keep going back to the myth of Reagan as an example of what they should be, though.
