Taking Ambien, Prozac, Xanax, Ritalin, Wellbutrin, even BENADRYL = REASON TO TAKE YOUR WEAPONS!!!

Put this one under “Glenn Beck told us so,” because he said that ‘they’ would do exactly this:

A Form of Gun Confiscation Has Reportedly Begun in New York State — Here’s the Justification Being Used

Despite promises from the president and a host of other politicians who are pushing for more gun control that nobody is coming for your guns, the confiscation of guns and gun permits has apparently started in some form in New York State. One attorney representing several people who have been forced to surrender their guns spoke with TheBlaze and alerted us to some disturbing facts:

  • Gun owners are losing their 2nd Amendment rights without due process.
  • HIPAA Laws are likely being compromised and the 4th and 5th Amendments are being violated in some of these cases

How did confiscation start happening so quickly? Apparently the gun grabbing was triggered by something inside the NY SAFE Act — New York’s new gun law — that has a provision apparently mandating confiscation of weapons and permits if someone has been prescribed psychotropic drugs.

Well, Ambien, Prozac, Xanax, Ritalin, Wellbutrin — even Benadryl are all classified as ‘psychotropic drugs.  So, do you see how easy it is to start disarming the entire population while convincing you that they are only going after those who are “mentally unstable?” Also, look at how easily the government helps itself to your private medical records.

So, do you trust the government to decide what’s best for you and society?

  1. The people who prescribe these drugs are the ones who decide they make it too dangerous for you to have a gun. Why do we give them so much power? Yes, these psychotropic drugs a very nasty, but so many people have been braying about ‘doing something’ about mental health that this is the result! These drugs do mess with your decision making ability and it is probably a good idea to lock away your guns if you are dumb enough to take them. The problem is that the medicos can’t seem to predict who will remain docile and who will become violent. Even with the bad effects of these drugs, there aren’t that many mass shootings. It’s just a very easy way to take away Liberty while sounding ‘reasonable’.

  2. Also, how many cops or people in King Barry’s police force take these drugs? Does being a cop magically make you immune to the bad effects?

    • daniellajoe,

I wouldn’t be — except, it’s not 1 bad apple we’re dealing with. Given the evidence available to us, the only reason we’re not living in an open tyranny is because we have a few good apples left, but there can be no mistaking our current situation. The majority of the apples in the basket of govt. are rotten to the core, and it’s evidenced by the fact that this is only one of many, many stories I have just today, all of which deal with govt. excesses and the out-right trampling of constitutionally protected rights.

I’m sorry, but this is now the norm, not the exception.

        • No,it doesn’t, but then, I never said it did or even could. You see, I’m not the one seeking to create a utopia…but the people who seek to control others often are.

As for me, I seek only a just society, and that is an obtainable goal in this life. It’s just that there are many who see justice in terms of groups, or the whole (i.e. collective) when justice is, by its very nature, and individual thing. Those who seek a collective justice are the ones who must force their will on others. It is the only way that such a thing can exist, but once one will is forced on another, an injustice has been done. Forcing a person to surrender their means of defending themselves to satisfy the desires of others is just that — an injustice. And when it is done as policy, and in the name of the people, then it can only be by corrupt people as just persons would not commit such an act of injustice upon otherwise free and innocent citizens.

          • Joe,
Well said. I have always been saddened by the number of people who see nothing wrong with “forcing their will upon others.”
I truly do not understand why they seek to control others and why they enjoy exercising power over others actions and decisions.
There is something terribly wrong with them and/or their mental processes and/or soul.

            • daniellajoe,

I was a Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. So, while you are correct, I don’t want such a thing to happen, it is more for the sake of other innocents around me than for myself because I am one of the people YOU would hope are around if and when — God forbid — such a thing ever did happen. But I’ll tell you soemthing you seem to not understand: sure as God made little green apples, it would be easier on me and for the memories of those around me were I still permitted to have a firearm on me to stop that “bad guy.” When you have to do it hand-to-hand, it is much messier than in the movies, and it stays with you longer.
