This Is How The 1st Amendment Is Destroyed

Just read this story – READ IT!

The Pro-Gun Billboard in Colo. That Has Some Residents Upset

Now read the 1st Amendment:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Finally, read this quote:

I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it?”

–Attributed to Voltaire

Now, let me ask you, where does the 1st Amendment or the spirit behind it give deference to the feelings of those who may take offense?  In fact, if we are worried about offending people, why would we even bother protecting free speech?  Doesn’t free speech require protection specifically because it may make others upset?  So why do we care about offending others?

The Progressives use concern about offending others as a hammer to beat your right to free speech out of existence.  That’s what “Political Correctness” is all about: silencing opposition voices through the use of fear. In this sense, political correctness is a form of terrorism.  It’s also subversive: both to our society and our system of government.  And sadly, the Left has been largely successful in employing it to silence their opposition.

Think about it the next time you find yourself silent out of fear.  Then think about why you call yourself an American, and whether your actions are worthy of that heritage.

  1. Truth in advertising!

Self-proclaimed native Americans are offended? Those who are offended may have descended from native Americans, but they do not know native american heritage or the Government’s propensity to destroy.
