Riders on the Storm

This morning before church, I decided to do some stalking. This is an innate Lutheran talent, and it is for the good of others. We only want to convert folks!  When these said folks realize that sauerkraut is good for them and indeed, a delicious dish, I believe I’ll be making some headway…..meanwhile, I’ll just keep praying for the RNL boys….

Anyway, I popped in to silly M.’s FB site, and he’s got this NH letter to the editor posted there. (Um, the NH is our local paper.) I actually bought the online subscription as it is only $3. a month and still they won’t let me comment!  Well, it so happens that I hadn’t yet read this piece of loveliness that he posted. I’m familiar with the author. I’ve read quite a few of Mr. Beeman’s letters, but I do believe this one takes the cake. Let me just say that the author and I are in complete disagreement…

Before I present the article, I just want to warn you that you may be frightened. It’s okay; I’ll be your guide. If you should encounter any health issues, Augger will be here…..I think. (Quite frankly, we’re all getting sick and tired of having to cover for him!)

Sorry, where was I? Right. I’m quite certain that we will all have different views on this. I’m terribly curious to hear them all. May I present Mr. Beeman: http://www.newsherald.com/opinions/letters-to-the-editor/modern-four-horsemen-bring-death-destruction-1.155655  That is the letter in its entirety. Here is a teaser:

From the book of Revelations there appears the allegory of Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. A modern version of this premise of disaster can easily be seen in the image of the four galloping ghouls personified by : 1) tax-evading international corporations; 2) those members of Congress who do their bidding; 3) global warming, which will plunge the planet in 4) a terrifying abyss of famine and death by weather-related disasters.

It’s not long. Go ahead. Read it all. Why? Because……………………….. that’s why.

  1. Dear Kels,

Suggesting that stalking is an innate Lutheran talent is obviously incorrect. Why any good Catholic could excel at stalking…..and converting.

I do have have a good sauerkraut hotdish recipe from my Great Aunt Regina though.

    • Trapped, you have a point. The Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses have an obvious advantage as it is bred into their DNA to confront one at their doorstep. The Catholics have exorcisms going for them; that’s a big plus (it’s as rare as hand-sewn clothes!)

Just out of curiosity, how do you view the four horsemen? Or perhaps a better question would be: were you to put them into a political aspect, as Mr. Beeman did, how would you assign them?

      • Kels,

Hmmmm, interesting question, keep in mind I’ve lived in SF area for last 29 years
        1. Public Employee Unions, especially Marxist teacher union
        2. GWP’s (Guilty White People) who hate themselves & everything about America
        3. La Raza, NAACP, Black Liberation Theology, Any just-us group based on race.
        4. Corrupt politicians who pander to the constantly offended & the Gimme, Gimme folks

The above groups overlap, but their viewpoint is always anti-American and usually anti white and anti Christian. They prattle endlessly about tolerance while being the least tolerant people on the planet. If you point any of this out to them they become unhinged and react much like someone on this site did earlier this week. It’s almost impossible to have a debate on issues with these folks. I’m thinking schools are not teaching debate classes anymore….big mistake!

  2. Yeah, I couldn’t help but comment. How do you respond to things like that – or more to the point, do they even merit a response?

Coincidentally, OregonMuse over at AOSHQ asked “Last week, I solicited responses to the question, what is the dumbest thing ever said to you by a liberal, and thanks to you morons, the thread was pure comedy gold.

    Here are some of them:

99 My ultra-Leftist sister told me she could never vote Republican because of slavery, the Ku Klux Klan and the plight of the American Indian.
I informed my sister that the Republican Party was founded by fifty men determined to end slavery, that her Democrats tore America in two and went to war in defense of slavery, that her Democrats founded and controlled the Ku Klux Klan, and that the Trail of Tears was the direct result of a lawless Democrat president choosing to ignore the ruling of the Supreme Court.
She told me that “everyone knows that none of that is true.”
I offered her three history books. She refused to take them.

221 91 This isn’t quite as stupid but my father, who has a PhD in mechanical engineering so he’s no dummy, told me that Bush lied and the Republicans forced the authorization of force through the Senate. I told him that the Democrats controlled the senate in September 2001.
He wouldn’t look at my phone when I pulled it up on the internet.

200 “Margret Sanger was not a racist eugenicist!”
Upon showing him a website to the contrary (this was before Wikipedia) he declared it to be conservatively biased.

555 Another otherwise bright co-worker was upset that Military Spending was more than the US GDP. When I pointed out that it was more around 5% or less of GDP he said I didn’t know what I was talking about. When I sent him a link to the government figures he responded “Everyone is entitled to their own facts.”
    Yes, really. He said that.

    • Surely, you have some gems. Hellsbells, this site got its tag from Bugger! Don’t have any memorable ones to share?

Of course he doesn’t because he is full of hot air! It’s just a shame, Utah, that you can’t ever come to grips with the fact that I’m right and you’re wrong! ~ Annola
