The Slide Toward Progressive Utopia

Many times, I have posted to sound the alarm bells.  This nation is quickly becoming a tyrannical police State.  The signs are everywhere, but no one wants to face them because it means making a choice: remaining silent, as the Germans did in the 1930’s, or standing up to it and risking the most likely consequences.  There was a time in this nation when people understood that there are worse fates than death, but those days must have passed us by.  If they hadn’t, then stories such as these would have the sons and daughters of liberty marching – ARMED – against this government:

The 4th Amendment has been “regulated” away – without Amendment and, thus, in total violation of the Constitution:

Valet parked cars searched under TSA regulations

Laurie Iacuzza walked to her waiting car at the Greater Rochester International Airport after returning from a trip and that’s when she found it — a notice saying her car was inspected after she left for her flight. She said, “I was furious. They never mentioned it to me when I booked the valet or when I picked up the car or when I dropped it off.”

They’ve done the same with the 2nd Amendment, and are working on the 1st.  I mean, honestly, you have no Constitutional protections left, as evidenced by the blatant disregard for the double jeopardy provision exhibited in the federal government’s witch h8unt for Zimmerman’s blood.

Then there is the “civilian defense force” the feds are putting together.  It is just as well armed and trained as the military, or don’t you remember?

Obama’s Civilian Defense Force

In a free nation, risk is accepted as an inherent part of liberty.  A free people knows that a militarized police force is a threat to their personal liberty because there is no one to protect them from the police.  This is why “security” is only used and accepted as an excuse to violate individual rights in a police State and never in a free and self-governing society.

Our law enforcement – especially federal — is becoming more and more militaristic, another characteristic of the police State:

Which then begs the question: If the freakin’ Department of Education has a SWAT team, then why in the name of Sam Hill do we need a DHS?

Do I need to address the connection between universal surveillance and the police State, or show how PRISM effectively represents Orwell’s 1984 on steroids?

People, there is one maxim of military history that has no known exception: if they build it, they WILL use it – always, every time.  Now, how many more dots do we need to connect before we start seeing the big picture here?

WARNING: the only people who think this is hyperbole are those who are ignorant of the lessons of history and blind to the repeating of history as it happens around them.

  1. This has been the Argument against a “Standing Army” since the Constitutional Convention and before.

Which was the reason for the 3rd Amendment and led to Article 1 Section 8 with Congress having the power to raise the Armed forces, and controlling the Money for it.
Now with the DHS and TSA…..Non-elected Gov’t agency Swat teams etc….this has been reversed.

    • Don,

Agreed, though I would allow for the Navy and — in this modern age — the Air Force (sans drones over America).

Honestly, if we are living in the real world, the Navy and Air Force can protect this nation from invasion all by themselves. We’d have plenty of time to get the National Guard/Militia together if they were ever needed.

      • I think we need the Navy( Marines), Air Force , Coast Guard AND Army.

It’s these other “Forces” and the Militarization of the Police who now shoot people’s dogs and etc that has become the Modern Standing Army.

    • “…
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
      …”

      “Declaration of Independence, July 4,1776”

  2. Didn’t get the poster. “USA: You suck asshole chant destroy American way of life for glory of Soviet Union.” Putin’s laughing at how stupid Americans are. Maybe the poster was written by a college grad?

    • I think its supposed to be a Russian speaking broken English…..using Cyrillic and the English alphabet to mimic the Agitprop posters produced by the millions in the 1920s-30s CCCP.

It is well done when compared to the originals.

  3. Maybe I have no understanding of the function of the police, but I personally don’t have a problem with a militarized aspect of the police. Does that mean I think that police need to be patrolling American streets in armored vehicles, armed with assault weapons, clad in tactical combat gear? Of course not. I also don’t think that means that citizens should trade in their right to arms in favor of a militarized police force either. If anything, I think full automatic weapons should be legal as well. After all, how could citizens deal with a tyrannical government, if that tyrannical government is armed to the teeth with armor and automatic weapons, while the citizens are confined to semi-auto hand guns and rifles? Having said that, a militarized police just isn’t a big deal to me.

I wold go further to say that I don’t have a problem with police departments, or certain departments in more heavily populated areas using a very limited number of drones in the right kind of circumstances. I think handcuffing the police is just a risky as militarizing them.

I guess it comes down to finding balance so that the police are not caught on either end of the scale.

Thats just my opinion on a minor point in this post though.

PS: There are way too many “I’s” in this post, for the liking of any drill instructor in any branch of the military lol

    • Libercrite,

Think of it this way: militarized = military! Now, since when is the military placed in charge of police functions in a free society? And since when does the Constitution authorize that, and more so, the Declaration say it is conducive to the preservation a free and self-governing society.

I mean no insult or slight when I tell you that your acceptance of a military police force is just a sign of how you have unwittingly internalized the Progressive agenda. But that’s OK, we all have, myself most certainly included. And this is why we are here: to detox by deprogramming.

  4. That could very well be the case, Joe. In which case, Progressivism is more deeply entrenched in all of our systems than I previously thought. To clarify though, I didn’t mean for that to include additional powers for the police, and more violations of citizens rights. My thinking is along the lines of the police being able to quickly contain situations like the North Hollywood Shootout; not to militarize police, just for the sake of militarizing them. Maybe in this would, there is no way to militarize a police force without it becoming the military. Perhaps history tells us that this is the case.

        • Your command of the Language is superlative . And you R no slouch when it comes to “facts” ….. it is a cumulative thing, like a Team…..spread the facts as far as you can.
And, There is no substitute for engaging articulation of those facts…..a talent you definitely have.

          • Thanks, Don. The regards are mutual.

“It is a cumulative thing, like a Team…..spread the facts as far as you can.”

Well said. That’s why I keep coming back!

            • Don’s right. Not only are you a member of the team, but an effective and valued member at that. I can’t tell you how many times I did NOT reply to a comment because you had already done so as well or better than I ever could.

        • Libercrite,

You have the most important qualities: you seek the truth using reason and are willing to accept what you find. I can stand with anyone who does this — anyone. But then, anyone who does this is unlikely to be standing very far from where the rest of us do 🙂

        • libercrite and Don,

We all know alot about a little…. Or a little about a lot….
This has been a great forum for me to learn and causes me to research and read, instead of going insane.

My spouse and I were just sitting in disbelief with a television show commercial: “Pregnant and dating” reality show on now…

WTF? Is this what America is really going to watch? Not me. So I surf the net from England to Israel to Australia… and read history. Real life is far more bizarre and interesting than “make believe”…

          • Texas,

You do not know the half of it. There is a rather famous science fiction series called “Hammer’s Slammers.” It is dated now, but it was a bout a bunch of space-going tank mercenaries. Anyway, every story line in the series was taken from human history. All the author did was change names and “space” it up a bit. Read the stories knowing this and you’ll see humans have and are some wacked beings.

            • Oh man Hammers Slammers. Loved those books, read several. Space mercs.can’t believe you read those also.

              • Ralph,

LOVE them. Have read every one in the series — several times. When I get fed up with this world, I read them and the series Hermman started with his book, Thunderbirds (modern jet jocks).

    • Libercrite,

This is indeed the case. Do you know the history of the SA in 1930’s Germany? The SA, Brown Shirts, Gestapo and SS basically all started out as glorified cops.

As for Progressives being in both Parties: you do know who the first really famous person to call himself a Progressive was, don’t you? Teddy Roosevelt. And do you know which Party he was in at the time? the Republican Party. have you ever heard Limbaugh refer to “Rockefeller blood-blood Republicans?” This is a two-fold tell by Limbaugh. It tells us he knows bloody well the Republicans are controlled by Progressives (which is what Rockefeller and company were — and Rush does admit this on occasion), and it tells us that Limbaugh is NOT as interested in “educating” his audience as he claims. otherwise, it wouldn’t have taken beck to teach us about Progressives, Rush would have done it. So, yes, the Progressives are in THAT DEEP! Sorry, it’s just a reality.

      • Yes……But Rush did say Very clearly in these words……”This is a COUP ! ”

And Levin said just the past week………..” What good is this Government……What use is this Government…we are Not represented “.

These are powerful statements !!…….. And Beck has been and remains Vital in all this. Let’s hope that we can Re-Capture and re-invigorate the Spirit of “United we stand and Divided we fall” amongst those who are awake .

        • Don,

Unless and Until Levin and Limbaugh stop attacking Beck (or ignoring him) and seek to ally with him, then they are not much help.

Now, why do I say they need to ally with Beck? Because Beck is the one who has shined the light of day on this nest of insects — not Limbaugh or Levin. Until just recently — VERY recently — they have seen and explained the world through partisan glasses. Beck has been teaching history. Big difference, especially since only 1 is useful to us in our cause and the other perpetuates the problem.
