Let’s Confirm Someone Who Hates the Constitution

Did you know the man who wrote this has been appointed to a position the Senate must confirm, and that he will probably get confirmed?

A System of Oaths – Based in a Sincere Belief in a Creator – are Essential to the preservation of Liberty

The following story illustrates the erosion in our society’s understanding of the difference between Natural and Human Rights:

This Obama Nominee Questioned If the Constitution Even Matters

“We can pat ourselves on the back about the past 223 years, but we cannot let the Constitution become an obstacle to the U.S.’s moving into the future with a sensible health care system, a globalized economy, an evolving sense of civil and political rights,” Stengel wrote.

Stengel went on to write, “The Constitution does not protect our spirit of liberty; our spirit of liberty protects the Constitution. The Constitution serves the nation; the nation does not serve the Constitution.”

I wish I could write that I believe Stengel does not understand the difference between the notion of Natural Rights upon which our Constitution was founded and the notion of Human Rights to which he desires to change our system – but I can’t.  The man does know the difference, and it turns everything he writes about our Constitution into a study on political deception.  Human Rights are not the same as Natural Rights.  The first is a natural enemy of the latter.

  1. Our founders said that a system of oaths is essential to holding people to account. They said this system of oaths rested upon the sincere belief by the person taking the oath in a Creator and in judgment day.

Right, I absolutely INSIST that my elected representatives believe in magic and fairy tales!

Maybe some of the Founders were superstitious fools, but the wiser ones knew that making any sort of religious litmus test necessary for a person to be elected to US office was anathema to the freedoms for which they fought. Even most of the Founders who openly praised the Lord were doing so because the citizenry would not have voted for them otherwise. Pandering to the populace is a time-honored tradition that originated, ironically enough, with the transfer of power form the nobles to the people, and one had to win hearts and minds in order to keep power.
You would defend slavery , Joe, because the (federal)gubmint has no right to take ‘property’ from an individual. So much for natural rights.

    • “a solemn usually formal calling upon God or a god to witness to the truth of what one says or to witness that one sincerely intends to do what one says”
“one asked to be present at a transaction so as to be able to testify to its having taken place”

      Nice gestures!

“The separation of the priesthood, the chosen of god, and the laity is intrinsic to the hierarchical nature of organised religion. Although not limited exclusively to it, this is especially emphasized in monotheism. Unlike many early pagan cults, which ranked the human among all the other Life of Earth, as a part of the fabric of nature, the predominant monotheistic cults also share the common characteristic of making humanity the special favorite of the god, superior to all other life and free to exploit the vital resources of nature without restraint. How convenient for us, how considerate of our special “god”.

Such hierarchical constructs, requiring complete submission and belief, make a perfect vehicle for those who seek dominion over others. It allows them to create a two-class system wherein they, the priests, the only ones with access to the god, can build power and amass wealth thereby gaining control of all the resources vital to the survival of those who follow them. At the same time they give their subjects a sense of importance and superiority by emphasizing their favored status with the god and their right to dominance over nature and the rest of life. Perhaps herein lies the explanation of the seemingly inexplicable phenomena of productive, otherwise seemingly rational people, submitting to the rule of a non-productive, psychopathic parasite class when it is patently not in their best interest to do so.”

“centralized control by an autocratic authority”

The servitude and ignorance of the messenger perpetuates the condition. Consensus amongst servants fortifies purpose absolving each for their individual and collective transgressions; because of their “sense of importance and superiority by emphasizing their favored status with the god and their right to dominance over nature and the rest of life.”

      • Lib and his pertinent queries! Well, who were the Founders? Of the 6 most commonly mentioned, only John Jay was orthodoxic in his religion. That leaves Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, Hamiliton, and Washington
okay, leading up to the Revolution, there was Ethan Allen, Thomas Paine, who wrote the following….
Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debauches, the cruel and tortuous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness, with which more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we called it the word of a demon, than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness, that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind; and for my part, I sincerely detest it, as I detest everything that is cruel.

Jefferson and Paine are the most prominent Deists, Washington was thought to be a Deist, as his writings are devoid of references to Jesus, others point to his lack of participation in communion.
Although few signers declared themselves Deists, had they been practicing Christians, they would have had to deal with the following biblical commands…
“For rebellion as is the sin of witchcraft.” 1 Samuel, 15:23
1 Peter 2:13: “For the Lord’s sake accept the authority of every human institution, whether of the emperor as supreme, or of governors, as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right.”

Paul wrote in Romans 13:1: “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resist authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.”

That sounds anathemic to the Declaration of Independence, to mine ears, anyway.
One can find a quote or two from each of these guys that seem to refute their Deism, but there are far more quotes referencing their opposition to conventional Christianity as well.

  2. Great Post …..and Great Reminder of the Enemies of the Constitution that are being put into positions of power today. And as such they are really enemies of America.

As to the Comments above …………… what a Complete and utter worthless bunch of Self-serving, Selfish Bullshit !!

The sum total of these comments serve only to high-light the main point of the post…..which is the POST-Constitutional situation we find ourselves in and the relentless push by the Progressives to undermine the Constitution and our Natural Rights ( whether given by God or “Nature”)…..and to subsitute a new “Autocratic Authority”….A new Centralized Control based on a new Secular Priest Set whose legitimacy is primarily based on their hatred of Christianity…….. and their allegiance to a specific Party and “Progressive ideology.

In other words they are the words of Clones and Drones of the Prevailing Ideologues in the Media, Press and Acacdemia today.

    • Don,

I just took it as confirmation that too few Americans even understand the principles of liberty anymore to hope we can salvage the nation. The more I see, the more and more I become convinced that our best option is secession of those sections of the nation that still understand and embrace liberty over l
(the appearance of) leisure at the (presumed) expense of others.

      • The condition creating anguish: “Perhaps herein lies the explanation of the seemingly inexplicable phenomena of productive, otherwise seemingly rational people, submitting to the rule of a non-productive, psychopathic parasite class when it is patently not in their best interest to do so.”

The best option alluded to will not be allowed due to; “the priests, the only ones with access to the god, can build power and amass wealth thereby gaining control…” over “those who follow”. They’re in control; not the followers (enablers). And, much to the chagrin of many, those non-subscribers to the illusion(s) concocted to establish domination will not be allowed to enact change either.

Freedom is not threatened; it’s the vulnerability of those who perceive change that are threatened knowing all along the status quo has been maintained and protected by government(s) and controlling ideology. The pie is getting smaller increasing the difficulty of access to the court and chambers of those capable of allowing favor to advance one’s position of advantage. That is why it is of paramount importance to ascend upon the backs of the disadvantaged; doing so reinforces a sense of importance and superiority. The service provided is priceless!

Denial has adverse effects: Assumption of one’s superiority justifies atrocity. The “Americas” were invaded, its native populations were murdered, manipulated and coerced, and its lands taken by force enriching those that perpetrated the assault. The founding fathers successfully ensured their ill gotten gains, along with those in possession of like ambition and assets, would transcend generations unmolested. Respecting, praising and idolizing persons of such character is consistent of many a sycophant. It’s not likely secession will cure the inflicted.

            • “a central and often foundational part usually distinct from the enveloping part by a difference in nature”

The difference is abstention from reality offers no absolution for participation advancing atrocities.

                • The accusation’s simplicity together with its qualifier suggest departure from the norm. Common to societies, most and certainly modern, is the discomfort realized not at the hands of its oppressors but at its inability to distinguish circumstances responsible for its allegiance to the oppressors. That inability suppresses, discourages and demobilizes dissent enabling agendas to advance unabated; even in the light of day.

Core enables and supports strength: Expanding it, nourishing and maintaining it, allows growth to continue. .

          • My bet is that that somebody blatantly refuses to understand the Gospel Message BECAUSE if they actually tried to understand it outside of their materialist reasoning, they might find themselves disappointed with the results.

      • Counties in California, Colorado and Maryland are already calling for such. Meaning secession FROM their states, rather than from the “hallowed” union.

I have seen discussions on various sites calling for MORE of this………effectively Isolating shit-holes like LA, Frisco, Chicago, Detroit and other Democrat/Progressive Cities etc WITHIN their states from other Red Counties….and fiscally responsible counties.

I think this is a good alternative …. alomg with TP voting in more Constitutional candidates and the approach Levin is talking about…..ie, a Convention of States…..called by the State’s Legislatures.

This 3 -prong approach is the nature of the New “Civil War ” …… I think people will become energized by this …. they were by the 2nd Amendment Grab this winter…. and Again by the Mike Lee-Cruz- Gohmert et al push against ObamaCare… and by Boehner’s latest strong gesture !!
