From the linked WaPo article:

‘Obama continued to blast House Republicans, charging that their “top agenda” was depriving millions of Americans of health-care coverage. On Friday, the House passed a plan that would avert a government shutdown and keep the government operating through mid-December but would also strip funding for the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare.

“It is not going to happen,” Obama said of the defunding measure. “We have come too far. We’ve overcome far darker threats than those.”’

Every word of that quote is a lie – including the a’s, the “and’s”, the “but’s” and the “the’s”…and the “uh’s” – the Post didn’t print them but you know they were there.

Accusing the Republicans of demagoguery – that’s just comical coming from the biggest demagogue of the modern era. Even the CBO notes that while healthcare costs are still going up:

  • Current worker’s hours are being cut to 29 hours a week
  • Companies are reducing full time staff to reduce their cost exposure
  • Companies are delaying hiring decisions on new employees
  • Companies like Home Depot and UPS are dumping employees into taxpayer funded “exchanges”
  • The Obamacare infrastructure and software can’t even calculate the correct rates or subsidies

…and with all this, there will still be over 31 million people without coverage – through 2023.

Here is the actual language from the CBO report:

Proposed regulations recently issued by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of the Treasury expanded the number of people who will be exempt from paying a penalty for being uninsured relative to our previous expectations. CBO and JCT now expect that, as a result of those regulations, between 500,000 and 1 million fewer people will obtain health insurance coverage each year. In our current projections for 2023, the ACA reduces the number of people without health insurance by 25 million, leaving 31 million uninsured (compared with 30 million in our February estimate). Also as a result of those regulations, penalties collected from individuals for being uninsured are now projected to be $7 billion less over the 2014–2023 period than previously estimated.

That alone proves that this man is a shameless liar and the members of the Congressional Black Caucus are just fine with supporting a liar. That part is not racism, they supported Clinton and he was/is a liar as well.

This president is a failure, a liar, a racist demagogue and Obamcare is a cluster f*ck of epic proportions. Obama has one thing in common with his signature legislative “success” – everything he says is fiction and everything Obamacare promises is as well.

  1. Since most of the elected a-holes are lawyers, I wonder how they would like it if OWEbozo was trying to take over the law profession. How would they like it if the govt could tell them how much they could charge, that they had to take any and all possible clients, and that they had to do it all at the govt’s beck and call?

  2. I am not sold on Obamacare but what have the Republican’s done for skyrocketing medical cost… Loss and the unavailability to get insured with pie-existing conditions. Bring workable solutions to the table instead of complaining. Companies like Costco have provided all these health care for years and working wages to boot… yet it is Walmart crying the blues that they may have to start paying for health care on top minimum their minimum wages they pay. Many employees that work for companies like Walmart end up having to use government subsidized insurance anyway.. and these are not RN entitlement people. Most work more than one job.
I look forwarded to some positive solutions. Thanks

    • Edger: It is important to understand what insurance and government can do to address healthcare issues, and even more important to understand how the whole system can avoid collapse…none of which the designers of Obamacare seem to be even remotely acquainted with. I taught Health Insurance at the graduate level at what is now the St. Johns University School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science and I’ve consulted for and served on the Boards of several insurance companies. I’ve looked at the Affordable Care Act, although neither I nor anyone else has actually read the whole thing and it looks like an elephant designed by a blind man. Based on the way it is set-up, it will collapse from a purely actuarial basis in no more than three-years. That doesn’t even account for the absurd and un-Constitutional provisions like taxing people who are paying for their own insurance to pay for people who are and will pay nothing for their coverage. Although the cases have not made their way to the Supremes yet, that provision is a clear violation of the US Constitution’s “Takings Clause” which forbids the Federal government from taxing one citizen to pay benefits to another. There are too many big, hairy problems to describe here, including multiple cases of “moral hazard,” but I will safely predict that the “Affordable Care Act” will follow the route of Prohibition, which was another Progressive”victory” loaded with unintended consequences.

As for alternatives, Representative Price of South Caroline advanced a much more effective bill several years ago, but the Liberal/Progressives running DC have refused to even read it. Price is successful physician, which means he actually knows whereof he speaks. I am not a Republican or a Conservative, I’m a libertarian who runs a successful financial advisory practice, but I’ve been working with a group of physicians who also see the impending implosion of Obamacare, to create a patient-centered alternative to Obamacare and the current system. By the way, the pre-Obamacare American healthcare system, judged by objective measures, has been the most effective and efficacious system on the planet. The Liberal/Progressives and their media allies have wanted control over the 17% of US GDP that healthcare represents since FDR’s time, and they’ve been trying to get control of it for almost a hundred years. The problem is that Collectivists like the Lib/Progs can’t really run anything effectively, since their understanding of economics and human behavior are both seriously flawed. The GOP is far from perfect, but its the only game in town for those who understand the results of Collectivist control in a huge number of nations over time. Obama-like policies have only ever benefited the people running the government, anywhere they’ve been tried. They are a philosophically pernicious idea that gets worse in implementation. If one thinks the current American healthcare system is somehow “bad,” be prepared, because Obamacare is already bad on steroids. And the clown driving the bus is clueless, and clueless that he is clueless. And the “advisors” around him are either clueless as well, or cynical to an incredible degree. The whole gang is intent on destroying a system that is working well for 95% of American citizens and they just don’t care. Incredible. CDE
