The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 990,000 times in 2013. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 43 days for that many people to see it.
I do find it hilarious that the folks at the RNL — who have repeatedly claimed that they don’t censor their critics — have apparently deleted my comments from your most-viewed post of 2013. You remember, the comments in which I pointed out the problems with Dusty’s regurgitated post about Newsweek? You screwed up, though, and left a couple of the responses to me. 🙂
Considering what the RNL has become, though, it’s absolutely appropriate that Dusty’s piece would be #1. And too bad that Greg and I didn’t help out nearly as much in 2013 as in 2012. 😉
Congratulations, and Happy New Year! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Ha. Ha. My ass. I claimed that I don’t censor comments and I don’t. There are other administrators who make decisions about content on their own posts. There is only one case where I personally deleted comments and banned a commenter – and that was because he viciously attacked my daughter in a vile and abusive manner.
Whatever makes you happy, Jimmy. If being a “victim” floats your boat, that puts you in line with most of your ilk.
While I didn’t mean to suggest that you personally deleted the comments, it doesn’t matter. At one time you took responsibility for what was on the site you founded. Now, despite lots of preaching about personal responsibility, there seems to be a lack of it at the RNL.
Though I’ve always disagreed with much of what was found on the RNL, I often found it worth reading (which is why I was your second-most frequent commenter in 2012). Now, however, it has pretty much gone to hell, becoming the sort of thoughtless two-bit collection of personal attacks and regurgitated garbage found throughout the blogosphere. I happen to think that’s sad, and that you were (and are) capable of better. But it’s your site, and your choice. I hope you find it fulfilling.
“Now, however, it has pretty much gone to hell, becoming the sort of thoughtless two-bit collection of personal attacks and regurgitated garbage found throughout the blogosphere. “
That sounds pretty funny … especially coming from you. Let he who hath not sinned … right, McPherson?
“Let he who hath not sinned … right, McPherson?”
Yeah, but I forgive you, Augger.
Well, you are the “bigger” man. 🙂
In the areas that matter most, I’m sure that’s true. You do seem to be trying to compensate for something. 🙂
When was I banned? When was I re-instated?
Utah,I am sorry that I dragged your daughter into the muck you raked up, but don’t forget that you were viciously attacking me from a safe point behind the keyboard; I would have gladly made the personal physical, but you were hiding in Texas, and I was frustrated. Again, I apologize to your daughter, you deserve nothing of the kind.
Now, if you are allowing posters to delete comments, you are the responsible party. Hey, it’s your site, do what you want, just own up.
Congrats to Aurora, who was ethical enough to keep up the comments correcting the post after he re-posted it: http://aurorawatcherak.wordpress.com/2013/07/01/amazing-the-cover-of-liberal-newsweek-magazine/
And I’m sure you boys have noticed that Dusty is strangely silent during this whole discussion, both here and elsewhere. So, Dusty, did you delete my comments? Keep the evidence in mind when/if you answer. 😉
I’m getting a bit tickled by this, SBJ. Good grief! I can’t tell you how many posts of mine have been deleted from liberal sites (namely, HuffPo) I went to the article and recalled that you and another boy were upset that it was old news. All I have to say about that is everything old is new again as this president and administration make abundantly clear on a daily basis. If you were deleted, just slap on your assless chaps and come see me. (I’ll make you feel better. ;))
So now you’re holding the RNL to the same standard as those “liberal sites” and the Obama administration, despite Utah and Joe’s previous whining about “censorship” on my site because their comments were “held for moderation” and then cleared unchanged (but never edited or deleted)? Good to know. And nicely, ironically appropriate. 🙂
Happy New Year, Kells.
No, what I said was don’t get your panties in a wad if a poster deletes your comment. Both sides do, including Fox…boo-hoo. Quit whining, already! Personally, I think you are the one who looks immature when you start this name-calling business with Dusty. I deleted a post once. It was my prerogative. (Oh, dear God, I just heard Bobby Brown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cDLZqe735k) Okay, SBJ; you’ve now got it all over me!
Truly, I do wish you and all the boys much happiness for the new year!
“Both sides do, including Fox…”
I don’t on my blog — and I was surprised that Utah would allow it on the blog he founded. I’m no longer surprised, though.
“I deleted a post once. It was my prerogative.”
True, but I don’t think you’d leave the post and just delete the comments that pointed out where you were wrong. I think you have more integrity than that. But you’re right — you and the boys can do whatever you want here.
Dear God McPherson … exactly how long are you going to squall like a little bitch over this?
However long you kids want to keep it going, Auggie. 🙂 The more people who see it, the more who know just how unethical the RNL is. Thanks for helping.
My god. You never got properly weaned off your pacifier did you? I bet your mother didn’t get enough prenatal care with your Baby Huey ass either.
No wonder you’re an insufferable whiner.
Whine away, little Auggie.
And of course, Kells, all of this discussion could have been avoided if Dusty weren’t such a coward. He presumably deleted the comments that made him look stupid on the original post, then hid out during this entire discussion — despite the fact that he’ll drop by to share cut-and-paste revisions of old Bush jokes: http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/jokes/bljokebushbrazilian.htm
