Progs on Parade

This past week, some ignorant remarks about the Constitution were made by Representative Shelia Jackson Lee, to wit:

“…how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years, operating under a Constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not.”

Ignoring the tautological fact that the Constitution defines what is constitutional because it is the…well, you know…the Constitution, the gaffe most chose to focus on was the 400 year comment – but the learned Ms. Jackson Lee is not alone in her confusion with the time/space continuum – in 2010, Ezra Klein, founding member of the Juicebox Media Mafia, issued this remarkable statement of idiocy:

“My friends on the right don’t like to hear this, but the Constitution is not a clear document. Written 100 years ago, when America had 13 states and very different problems, it rarely speaks directly to the questions we ask it.”

100 years old? 400? Really? What’s a few centuries among friends? Most people will take both of these statements as simple ignorance of history, but in my estimation, they reveal another, far greater issue.

They expose the weakness of statists and how they seek to satisfy that weakness through state control.

It is clear that Klein sees the Constitution as lacking because “it rarely speaks directly to the questions we ask it.” Well, Ezra – that is not the purpose of the Constitution. The Constitution was drafted for the governance of a moral population, a population capable of self-regulation and the self-governance brought about through the understanding and respect of natural laws and natural rights, of which Jefferson wrote “…to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them”.

In a communist state, Natural Law concepts are absent and therefore the state assumes the role of “Nature and of Nature’s God”, creating legislation, rules and regulations to govern every aspect of human interaction. Counter to her assertion that she thinks the Constitution “clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not”, Ms. Jackson Lee has proven time and time again that she joins “journalist” Ezra Klein as part and parcel of the “progressive” movement, a movement that is attempting to define our 100 to 400 year old constitution in any way that advances their legalistic Utopian state.

  1. Are “the People” awakening to the reality “that which is not seen” is in fact themselves? http://mises.org/daily/3804

    Utah writes:
“In a communist state, Natural Law concepts are absent and therefore the state assumes the role of “Nature and of Nature’s God”, creating legislation, rules and regulations to govern every aspect of human interaction.”

I add: In a communist state, the State puts forth lies to the masses on the whys, hows, and accomplishments of everything they do. The Communist state steals from “that which is not seen” to “give” to their power supporters.

“Obamacare” and Russia’s actions awaken a majority of America. Every honest person realizes “the emperor has no clothes”.

“that which is not seen” is every single individual American. Obamacare underscores this truth for anyone willing to seek the truth. The group of “people who have lost their insurance” is a multiple greater then the group of “previously uninsured now able to purchase affordable healthcare”. Why? Simply, by governmental design. The people in control are “experts”. The results are not Accidents as even former supporters realize the lies show.

The people no longer watch the old guard media they have realized lies to them. The people no longer trust their government they know lies to them. Will “the people” take action and demand justice and liberty for all? Will the People remain content with bread crumbs, marijuana, and abortions, stolen from “that which cannot be seen”?

“that which cannot be seen” = themselves, their families, and their neighbors.

  2. Wait a second! Are you tellin me that Columbus didn’t sail the ocean blue in nineteen-hundred forty-two?!

Either A) She’s an incredible liar or B) She’s incredibly dumb. (I’m going with the latter as I’ve watched her speak.)

  3. Texas is right, Lee does speak to her supporters. One July 4th in CA, a local youth asked me why I always flew the flag on holidays. I told him I flew it for my ancestors who fought the British in the Revolutionary War. He responded that we never fought the British, it was the Germans. Although I gave him a brief history of the American Revolution his only response was “so you say”

I told him to Google it.
