I’m Tired of the “I Was Born This Way” BS — IT DOESN’T MATTER!!!

LESSONS IN LOGIC: “I was born this Way” is NOT an Excuse

I am tired of people claiming that there is nothing wrong with what they do in their ‘private lives,’ or worse, that whatever they do in that ‘private life’ is OK because ‘they were born that way.’ These assertions are patently false and absurd on their face. In reality, they are nothing more than a demand that society should ignore or even normalize their behavior. As such, claims like these represent nothing less than an attack on morality, and an attack on morality is an open declaration of war against society.

This should be self-evident to any honest person, but, sadly, too few of us have been taught the necessary tools to actually think this issue through. Instead, we have been conditioned to just react and follow the herd, and the herd is directed by our masters behind whatever ‘entertainment’ medium we happen to prefer. Still, I will try to make this as easy as possible by using absurdity and hoping it will somehow manage to break through the walls our ‘overlords’ have been trying to build around us.

  1. Joe: This column is mislabeled in this extreme…it is anything but a lesson in logic because it demonstrates no acquaintance with the basics of logic or fact-based argument. I couldn’t find the writer’s name on the site, and I will resist the temptation to harass you over the silliness of your post because I think you are a smart fellow and must know better!!! The argument that the writer is for some reason better qualified to make decisions about my personal life than I am is unsupported by any factual or rational evidence because there is none to provide. This type of idiot often believes that by speaking in an authoritative tone he or she has to merely repeat his or her flawed argument to make it true. That makes sense with children, Liberal/Progressives and sheep, but no clear thinking American will tolerate that nonsense for a moment.

In fact, while the writer probably claims to be an American Conservative, his or her arguments are straight out of the Liberal/Progressive playbook. The government is better qualified to determine and coercively enforce a specific moral code in matters that affect only me, not my neighbors or other American citizens. That position flies in the face of everything our Founders fought for and codified in the US Constitution. Prohibition, laws making recreational drugs illegal, Obamacare, restrictions on my use of my own private property, the Federal income tax and thousands of other moralizing activities by the Federal government are the outcome of some people thinking they have the right to tell the rest of us what we can eat, drink, do with our private property, who we can marry, and how we can educate our children. Those ideas are the ideas of Liberal/Progressive authoritarians with an unquenchable thirst for power over other people’s lives and they have no place in American society!!! CDE

    • CDE,

I’m sorry, but this is one comment you have posted that seems disjointed — at least to me. I’m not sure how to respond, other than to ask you this. If the founders did not think government had any business in defining and enforcing morality — even in the area YOU call ‘private’ — then why did they write such laws THEMSELVES! And, if you think the founders rejected any notion that society has a right in how you use your property, then why did they say the opposite?

I think the reason you reacted this way to this post is because it hits too close to home for you and reveals the fatal flaws in the Libertarian ideal that I have been trying to show you — and you have refused to see. Yet, here you are, reacting to the sting cause — not be me or my words — but the truth in them.
