White privilege, racism, micro-aggression, manspreading, the heteronormative patriarchy, income “inequality”, “social justice”, sexism, changing public service and military fitness/strength testing to accommodate weaker candidates), radical feminism, slut-shaming, fat-shaming, thin-privilege (yes, that’s apparently a thing now) are all considered “legitimate” by our intelligentsia and elitist politicians.
Let’s call all of it what it really is – it is a progressive shit-storm ginned up to destroy the individual. Look it it – it is all intended to keep any individual from expressing discrimination (properly defined as “choice”), recognizing the limitation or superiority of others or generally calling out the lack of success of this group or that group because we aren’t supposed to notice the differences in people – that their successes or failures are the result of some collective and not individual skills, abilities or talent driven by individual want, need or desire.
There is nothing “fair” or “equal” about any of it. This is probably not an organized Marxist movement but it doesn’t have to be – it is growing the same way that insipid (yet mesmerizing) YouTube clips of rednecks doing stupid crap behind a Ford pickup, dogs playing a piano or a cat in a shark suit riding a Roomba propagate in the American consciousness – in this age of superficial electronic immediacy, shallow thinkers are helping the unasinous detrius (a nice way of saying stupid shit) of cultural Marxism go viral in society just like the aforementioned videos do on Al Gore’s Greatest Invention.
If I wrote a book about it, I would title it “Cultural Marxism for Morons”.
The true Marxists are laughing their collective asses off at the weakness of western culture (classical liberalism) right now. They know that they just have to sit back and watch as we make their work easier by destroying ourselves – maybe they give it a little push every now and again, as they have done with the anarchists who protest the G7 meetings, the anti-war crowd when Bush was president (notice that war isn’t such a big deal when the progressives are in office – remember Cindy Sheehan? Me, neither.), Occupy Wall Street protesting income “inequality”, GLBTQ looking for “equality” (while they are really asking for special “rights”) and today with the “Hand’s up, don’t shoot!/”I can’t breathe!” memes.
This erstwhile viral “movement” has turned our language upside down where racism means treating everyone the same, discrimination can be cured by more discrimination (just to the benefit of a favored group) and sexism is simply noting the natural differences between men and women (and in opposition to the GLBTQ agenda – that there are actually men and women).
In this miraculous Age of Obama, there have been innumerable of articles written angrily countering the definition of the Obama agenda as “socialist”. While I would agree that this textbook definition is not applicable in total, I believe that we are seeing an aggressive prosecution of a trend that has been ongoing for some time. Advocates of this radical shift in American society and politics know that the majority of the American people will never willingly submit themselves to such a concept but as the advocates of this change realize, it can be done by degree.
In 1956, Nikita Khrushchev uttered the often misunderstood quote “We will bury, you!” speaking of the eventual defeat of democracy and capitalism. On August 24, 1963, Khrushchev himself remarked, “I once said, ‘We will bury you,’ and I got into trouble with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you.” – a reference to the Marxist saying, “The proletariat is the undertaker of capitalism”.
What we are experiencing today is what I call “Marxism by degree”. Many of my opponents reject that this is happening because it isn’t wholesale – it doesn’t fit the textbook definition on a macro level; however, it is not arguable that there are sections of our society and economy that are being transformed by degree and this is opening the door to faster future erosion of our liberty. It does; however, fit the definition on a micro level – this viral cultural Marxist war on the individual. When there are many micro level changes in the same direction, they eventually add up to a macro shift.
It is stunning how many of Obama’s supporters cannot see that that they are being used for this “grand plan” unless, of course, they are Marxists as well.
We shouldn’t be so blind as to ignore it or pass it off as fluff. Each one of these little “isms”, perversion of our language and small cultural “nudges” (read Cass Sunstein’s book “Nudge” if you want to understand that there is nothing coincidental about these micro-changes) all are pushing society toward the subjugation of collectivism and away from the supremacy of the individual.
Nothing is trivial today – it all has meaning. Triviality has become the camouflage of the substantial. The fact that we are all being conditioned that before we speak or write something, it has to pass through the filter of political correctness identifies that the disease of cultural Marxism has already infected us.
