Cultural Marxism Goes Viral

141125-ferguson-protests-nyc-2004_fb3bb925df4e3343aecd2495dc1b6451White privilege, racism, micro-aggression, manspreading, the heteronormative patriarchy, income “inequality”, “social justice”, sexism, changing public service and military fitness/strength testing to accommodate weaker candidates), radical feminism, slut-shaming, fat-shaming, thin-privilege (yes, that’s apparently a thing now) are all considered “legitimate” by our intelligentsia and elitist politicians.

Let’s call all of it what it really is – it is a progressive shit-storm ginned up to destroy the individual. Look it it – it is all intended to keep any individual from expressing discrimination (properly defined as “choice”), recognizing the limitation or superiority of others or generally calling out the lack of success of this group or that group because we aren’t supposed to notice the differences in people – that their successes or failures are the result of some collective and not individual skills, abilities or talent driven by individual want, need or desire.

There is nothing “fair” or “equal” about any of it. This is probably not an organized Marxist movement but it doesn’t have to be – it is growing the same way that insipid (yet mesmerizing) YouTube clips of rednecks doing stupid crap behind a Ford pickup, dogs playing a piano or a cat in a shark suit riding a Roomba propagate in the American consciousness – in this age of superficial electronic immediacy, shallow thinkers are helping the unasinous detrius (a nice way of saying stupid shit) of cultural Marxism go viral in society just like the aforementioned videos do on Al Gore’s Greatest Invention.

If I wrote a book about it, I would title it “Cultural Marxism for Morons”.

The true Marxists are laughing their collective asses off at the weakness of western culture (classical liberalism) right now. 60086They know that they just have to sit back and watch as we make their work easier by destroying ourselves – maybe they give it a little push every now and again, as they have done with the anarchists who protest the G7 meetings, the anti-war crowd when Bush was president (notice that war isn’t such a big deal when the progressives are in office – remember Cindy Sheehan? Me, neither.), Occupy Wall Street protesting income “inequality”, GLBTQ looking for “equality” (while they are really asking for special “rights”) and today with the “Hand’s up, don’t shoot!/”I can’t breathe!” memes.

This erstwhile viral “movement” has turned our language upside down where racism means treating everyone the same, discrimination can be cured by more discrimination (just to the benefit of a favored group) and sexism is simply noting the natural differences between men and women (and in opposition to the GLBTQ agenda – that there are actually men and women).

slutwalk_london__abolish_rape_cultureIn this miraculous Age of Obama, there have been innumerable of articles written angrily countering the definition of the Obama agenda as “socialist”. While I would agree that this textbook definition is not applicable in total, I believe that we are seeing an aggressive prosecution of a trend that has been ongoing for some time. Advocates of this radical shift in American society and politics know that the majority of the American people will never willingly submit themselves to such a concept but as the advocates of this change realize, it can be done by degree.

In 1956, Nikita Khrushchev uttered the often misunderstood quote “We will bury, you!” speaking of the eventual defeat of democracy and capitalism. On August 24, 1963, Khrushchev himself remarked, “I once said, ‘We will bury you,’ and I got into trouble with it. Of course we will not bury you with a shovel. Your own working class will bury you.” – a reference to the Marxist saying, “The proletariat is the undertaker of capitalism”.

Fulton_Protesters-e1323372818714What we are experiencing today is what I call “Marxism by degree”. Many of my opponents reject that this is happening because it isn’t wholesale – it doesn’t fit the textbook definition on a macro level; however, it is not arguable that there are sections of our society and economy that are being transformed by degree and this is opening the door to faster future erosion of our liberty. It does; however, fit the definition on a micro level – this viral cultural Marxist war on the individual. When there are many micro level changes in the same direction, they eventually add up to a macro shift.

It is stunning how many of Obama’s supporters cannot see that that they are being used for this “grand plan” unless, of course, they are Marxists as well.

We shouldn’t be so blind as to ignore it or pass it off as fluff. Each one of these little “isms”, perversion of our language and small cultural “nudges” (read Cass Sunstein’s book “Nudge” if you want to understand that there is nothing coincidental about these micro-changes) all are pushing society toward the subjugation of collectivism and away from the supremacy of the individual.

Nothing is trivial today – it all has meaning. Triviality has become the camouflage of the substantial. The fact that we are all being conditioned that before we speak or write something, it has to pass through the filter of political correctness identifies that the disease of cultural Marxism has already infected us.

  1. The adjective “social” is a universal rhetoric catalyst and turns any rational term into a liberal w e a s e l – w o r d. The great Austrian economist F.A. Hayek wrote:

“…like the small predator, the weasel, which can suck the contents of an egg without anyone noticing that from the former egg remains only an empty shell, likewise the “weasel-word” removes the content of a term or phrase and robs it of its original meaning. Such a weasel-word is the term “social”. Nobody really knows exactly what it means. True only is this: a social market economy is no market economy, a social rule of law is no rule of law, a social consciousness is no consciousness, social justice is no justice and – I am afraid – a social democracy is no democracy.”

    And this is from anonymous:
“The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living
are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living.”

A healthy and interesting New Year!

    • Hayek was quoted (from the abridged version of The Road to Serfdom):

“Long before the Nazis, too, the German and Italian socialists were using techniques of which the Nazis and Fascists later made effective use. The idea of a political party which embraces all activities of the individual from the cradle to the grave, which claims to guide his views on everything, was first put into practice by the socialists. It was not the Fascists but the socialists who began to collect children at the tenderest age into political organizations to direct their thinking. It was not the Fascists but the socialists who first thought of organizing sports and games, football and hiking, in party clubs where the members would not be infected by other views. It was the socialists who first insisted that the party member should distinguish himself from others by the modes of greeting and the forms of address. It was they who, by their organization of “cells” and devices for the permanent supervision of private life, created the prototype of the totalitarian party. By the time Hitler came to power, liberalism was dead in Germany. And it was socialism that had killed it. To many who have watched the transition from socialism to fascism at close quarters the connection between the two systems has become increasingly obvious, but in the democracies the majority of people still believe that socialism and freedom can be combined. They do not realize that democratic socialism, the great utopia of the last few generations, is not only unachievable but that to strive for it produces something utterly different – the very destruction of freedom itself. As has been aptly said: “What has always made the state a hell on earth has been precisely that man has tried to make it his heaven.””

      • Yes, that is all correct. Those facts are also excellently exposed in “Liberal Fascism”, by Jonah Goldberg. But it seems, the (modern) liberals and socialists do have the better rhetoric and marketing, probably because they only live by populistic slogans.

        • “Better” rhetoric and “marketing” ???

Perhaps it is nothing more complicated than that Liberals and Socialists ( Progressives) have almost the Entire Media ( news and entertainment) and the Academic community to endlessly Repeat their Slogans and populist hate-speech.

The Ear of the public is fed a diet daily of uninterrupted Leftist propaganda increasingly aimed at the young.

  2. It is labeling and name calling intended to denigrate one group in an attempt to prop up or benefit another group. There is no difference in the intent or result between using the “N” word and using “white privilage” as a pejorative.

  3. I’m getting the giggles, because it seems to be a popular trend to “unfriend” on the FB. (I don’t know how one goes about doing that, but it definitely proves your point of everyone singing in unison: Go against the grain; you are not my friend; I ban YOU!!! Oh, no, better apologize and post kitties on the FB!! )

Um, no. Guess the Chuck what? I probably never was your friend; there are those of us who will adhere to dancing to the beat of their own drum regardless of the “cost”. (Boo-hoo! Their loss, not mine……and I get the drummer boy.)

  4. Let’s call all of it what it really is – it is a progressive shit-storm ginned up to destroy the individual

I call it “An Amalgamation of Bull Shit.”
