Just when you think we have hit bottom, you find out that was a false one and there is a new bottom even farther down.

The attempt to blame Pamela Geller for inciting Muslim ire is something straight out of the old Soviet Union with the supposed bastion of freedom of speech, the mass media acting like the NKVD and cracking down on the enemies of the state.

WTF?

In the famous obscenity case, Jacobellis v. Ohio, Justice Potter Stewart said, “I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description; and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it…”

I’ve never seen so many people who want to be Potter Stewart’s so they can determine what is allowed under the First Amendment and what isn’t. The damn sure claim to know “forbidden speech’ when they see it – even though most of the idiots have a tenuous grip on what the Constitution really says.

This is censorship in the pursuit of throttling free speech, pure and simple – they can’t do it legally, so they are doing it by twisting who should be blamed for two dead jihadis – who by the way, planned and drove hundreds of miles to get to Garland to attack. The were not just strolling by like Hillary’s Benghazi jihadis and just all of a sudden were inspired to do an impulse attack.

This isn’t the first time these toads have tried so shut down free speech – remember how Harry Reid wanted to rewrite the Constitution to prohibit “political speech”?

Folks, this is what unvarnished progressivism looks like. Controlled speech, approved and protected religion (and yes, I am saying that Islam has become the de facto state religion), civic leaders openly fomenting class and racial warfare, government agencies used as political weapons, government leaders acting with impunity, the Executive ignores Congress to govern via diktat, and the free press – the vaunted Fourth Estate – has metastasized into a propaganda spewing Fifth Column – this is who they are.

H. L. Mencken said, “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”

People voted for two terms of a president who has been more of an enemy of the Constitution than any president since Woodrow Wilson and the most statist since FDR, and baby, he and his inner circle are going full Mencken and giving it to us good and hard, every inch of it.

Nothing like a vigorous state sodomization to brighten your day.

The Democrat Party stance is the most openly communist and anti-liberty since…well – ever. Hear that loud whirring sound? That’s the sound of the staunchly anti-communist Democrat John F. Kennedy spinning in his grave.

What has this lurch left brought us? Let’s see:

1. A mythical economic recovery – mythical because “recovery is a fable and its failure is on par with a Greek epic.
2. Social cohesion and race relations are at an all time low.
3. America’s standing in the world is the lowest in the post WWII era.
4. The First and Second Amendment are eroding under constant attack.
5. Tax receipts, deficits, debt, food stamps, and disability claims are at record levels.
6. The Federal government has taken control of the health insurance industry.
7. The DOJ is running local police forces in many major cities via consent decrees and funding blackmail.

Herb Stein was a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and former Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under Nixon and Ford, he created Stein’s Law by saying:

“If something cannot go on forever, it will stop.”

This adventure in progressivism will not end well. I just hope ole Herb was right.
