Almost every visual or audio clip if the protests of the election of President Trump include a sign or someone using the word “fascist” of “fascism.”
I find it Interesting that so many use the term “fascism” to describe something that at its root, is nothing but socialism with a thin patina of capitalism covering its pitted and pock-marked surface.
That fascism is truly a left-wing ideology is not an original thought, it was quite well researched and exquisitely argued by Jonah Goldberg in his 2008 book, “Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning.” I prefer the term “progressive” rather than “liberal” because, having corrupted the very meaning of the word “liberal”, they have largely discarded it as an identity that is no longer useful to them.
The Library of Economics notes”: “Where socialism sought totalitarian control of a society’s economic processes through direct state operation of the means of production, fascism sought that control indirectly, through domination of nominally private owners.” That is exactly what Obama did for 8 years from the left. Progressivism is nothing but checkbook socialism.
No less than the father of fascism, Benito Mussolini, said “Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power.”
There are a multitude of examples of former President Obama’s socialism and corporatism – but it takes two to tango, many corporations are more than willing to dance with the federal government. Just look at how the insurance companies fell in love with Obamacare with the idea they would be able to have access to a mandated market, legally enforced rate increases and bailouts if things didn’t quite go as planned – but if you go to the dance with the devil, you must expect he’s going to want to take you home. You may think you are playing with house money but the house always wins.
But all that reality is lost on all the adult babies out in the streets today. Blinded by stupidity, ideology and their own, they believe they are champions of the proletariat – the thin red line defending the people and fighting for a total democracy – national rule by the majority. However; placing power in the hands of the people is the last thing they want. Individuals have minds of their own and that cannot be permitted if the conformity necessary to enforce their idea of “equality” is to be maintained. They don’t want choice, they want their ideology to be the ideology of government so that it can forced on everybody else.
I do find progressivism to be contradictory, self-defeating and constructed upon untruths and non sequitur. It is so because everything, and I mean everything, the progressive left professes to want may be accomplished by doing exactly the opposite of what they propose. It is regressive. It is a reduction of humanity to forced savagery, pitting man against man, race against race, and group against group, with government as the referee. It’s Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome – except with Nancy Pelosi in Tina Turner’s role as Aunty Entity.
As Inigo Montoya said in the movie, the Princess Bride, ““You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.” When the progressive/anarchist/socialist/communist cry-bullies rant and rave about a word they are totally ill-equipped to understand, they should simply know that to see a true fascist in action, all they need to do is look at their own hammer-wielding reflection in the Starbucks window they are about to smash.
