Hindsight

Hindsight is always 20/20.
People define their culture and politics is said to be downstream from culture – but then so is the flotsam and jetsam of culture. Shocker of all shockers, we now find the Democrat party (and to some extent, the establishment in the GOP) are both supported and filled with confirmed power-obsessed and apparently sex-crazed people (mostly men, although I would propose there will be some powerful women accused and burned at the stake before the Sexual Inquisition subsides) and their enablers. How do these “bad people” get into positions of power and influence in the first place?
Economist F.A. Hayek wrote a chapter in his seminal reveal of socialism, The Road to Serfdom”, titled “Why the Worst Get on Top”, noting:
“Since it is the supreme leader who alone determines the ends, his instruments must have no moral convictions of their own. They must, above all, be unreservedly committed to the person of the leader; but next to this the most important thing is that they should be completely unprincipled and literally capable of everything. They must have no ideals of their own which they want to realize; no ideas about right or wrong which might interfere with the intentions of the leader.”
Hayek was examining how the worst get into positions of power in a socialist regime but when you replace the idea of a leader with power, wealth or fame, you can see how seductive becoming “completely unprincipled and literally capable of everything” and having “no ideas about right or wrong” could be to someone could be. There are those who literally become capable of doing anything to anyone – or allowing anything to be done to themselves – to achieve their desires. It’s not so much a political thing as it is a human thing – remember this: people define their culture through what they will accept and will not accept.
It comes mostly from the progressive left, but the fabric of basic American goodness has been pulled at for decades and now appears quite threadbare. America kneaded up a supposedly staid and religious post WWII culture and forced it through the Play-Doh Fun Factory of a civil rights revolution (seeking equality and colorblindness) and a sexual “revolution” (equating male and female). The arbitrary and capricious nature of progressivism selected the die through which the culture was squeezed, and that malleable ball of culture came out the other side as an incongruent, irreligious, state-worshiping, sex and race obsessed cult where racial self-segregation and gender “fluidity” rule the day.
Now there are inquisitors determined to maintain the progressive faith in the same manner as the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition was created by Ferdinand and Isabella to maintain Catholic orthodoxy in their kingdoms.
Look at how far we’ve come.
Twenty years hence, Democrats are lining up to condemn the predatory characteristics of the Man From Hope (the man from Hope, Arkansas – not the man from Hope and Change), someone they defended to the death (of the culture) during his Monica Period. Who cares about damage to the culture when you have power and an ideology to protect?
Why dump on Billy now? Did the Democrats suddenly get religion?
No, they didn’t. The Clinton hypovehiculation (getting thrown under the bus) is because whether people believe in the concept of sin or can define it, most have a desire to be without it – not that they want to be pure, they just don’t want to bear a burden. To rid themselves of such pestilence, they try explaining sin away, Soon, that explaining becomes a full-time job. Humans will always admit to a lesser sin to excuse a greater sin, especially if the lesser sin has been made lesser by the passage of time, fading memories and waning of the specific sinner’s power and/or value to the cause.
Two things I have learned over my almost six decades on the planet, 1)if you always do what you did, you will always get what you got and 2) people don’t get what they deserve, people get what they allow. What we see in Washington (all government, actually) is not the fault of the elected, it is the fault of we who elect them. We so value power and control (both left and right) that we are willing to accept decadence, debauchery and decline in our private and public-sector leaders.
Franken, Moore, Weinstein, Bill Clinton, Donald J. Trump, whomever – the questions we need to ask as a people are these: “Is this what we want to become? Will my defense of this power/ideology support or destroy what is best for my country?
These questions are asked often enough because we already know the answers and don’t like them. The truth is that there are no “lesser sins”, only sin. Sins are never explained away, they just get incorporated in to the culture.

  1. Where we are today is no suprise. The World is headed into the new Tower of Babel. Babylon, the rebirth on Nimrods “New One World Order” only proves Biblical Prophecy is 100% accurate.

In their minds nothing is impossible. We will be like God!

Case in point, Xi in China has promoted himself to be like god. The removal of all Christian doctrine is the goal. Hang his picture on the wall or be persecuted. History repeats itself. Xi is the new Mao. Looks like Kissinger and Nixon are proven wrong. When you dance with evil the result does not work out as planned.

We are not far behind in the USA today.
