The unprecedented public response by the US military leadership to Tucker Carlson’s very valid criticism of woke indoctrination in the armed forces was based on the straw man that Tucker criticized the role of women in the military (he did not). The military brass got their feelings hurt by the truth and metaphorically turned their guns on a TV pundit.

This seems to be the final straw in the politicization of the military, the one institution in America that has been thought to be completely apolitical.

Infection of the military by the woke virus began back during the Obama administration with his purge of promotable officers who did not fit his mold of the “right” kind of officers. He cleansed the services of any officer suspected of disloyalty to, or disagreement with, his administration on matters of policy or force structure, leaving only the politically aligned, the compliant and the fearful.

Remember Gen. Carter Ham? General Ham was relieved as head of U.S. Africa Command after only a year and a half because he disagreed with orders not to mount a rescue mission in response to the Sept. 11, 2012, attack in Benghazi. Also tied to the Benghazi debacle, Rear Adm. Chuck Gaouette, commander of the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group, was relieved in October 2012 for disobeying orders when he sent his group on Sept. 11 to “assist and provide intelligence” for military forces ordered into action by Gen. Ham.

Other removals included the sacking of two nuclear commanders in a single week — Major General Michael Carey, head of the 20th Air Force, responsible for the three wings that maintain control of the 450 intercontinental ballistic missiles, and Vice Admiral Tim Giardina, the No. 2 officer at U.S. Strategic Command.

What were the “right kind” of officers? Just look at retired Rear Admiral John Kirby, the former and current spokesman for the Pentagon and a rabid partisan. If you have ever seen the 2014 Tom Cruise/Emily Blunt movie, “Edge of Tomorrow”, Kirby reminds me of Cruise’s character, Major William Cage, a slimy PR flack in uniform.

This politicization is allowing the Democrats to turn the military’s role from defense of our nation against external threats into a domestic pacification force with a political objective. Neither our border states nor our cities received protection from the National Guard in response to waves of illegal immigration or ANTIFA/BLM destruction and yet a two-hour riot in Washington resulted in a ring of steel being placed around the Capitol, manned by live troops.

Was that ring of steel to protect Congress?

No.

If it were, such a posture would have been established when ANTIFA was setting fires down the street from the White House in the summer of 2020.

No, this posture was assumed to protect a DEMOCRAT regime.

Democrats are no longer focused on winning the hearts and minds of the people, the are following the Gramsci plan and taking over the institutions. They have captured academia, the scientific community, the big corporations, Big Tech and finally, the military – all institutions the political right once counted on for support.

Now you know what Obama meant by “fundamentally transforming” America.

We assumed the institutions, especially the military, to be incorruptible due to principle.

But principle is dead.

Woke-ism killed it.

Principles are for suckers. Power has replaced principle.
