The left’s attacks on the right of self defense have led to a race war.

About this time yesterday, I began a post about the bodega owner who Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg charged with a felony and sent to Riker’s for defending himself. I was going to let it sit until I could clean it up last night to post this morning, but Tucker Carlson did such a good job with the issue on his show last night, there’s not much more I can add.

There are two things we can learn from the past couple of years.

The first is that American leftists believe crime is a construct, invented by capitalists as a means of oppression. Rather than a criminal justice system mitigating crime, it creates it. It isn’t the individual’s fault for breaking a law, it is society’s fault for making the law in the first place.

That is largely the push behind the various “defund the police” movements because, you see, more police create more crime, not less – but what is happening in the cities where the evil capitalist systems are being systematically dismantled?

If the leftist’s premise was true, one would assume crime would evaporate like the morning dew.

But it hasn’t, not in the least.

If someone breaks into your home, using deadly force to stop them is murder in the minds of these people.

Now couple that with the threats that police face every single time they draw a weapon.

Remember the cop who was dragged for shooting the young girl who was in the act of stabbing another girl? The victim and assailant were both black, the officer was not, and the community blamed the police officer for shooting the girl wielding the knife.

I have been following a couple of Twitter threads in which people are arguing that it is not permissible to kill a rapist, even if the rapist is in the act because:

“If someone tries to rape you, that doesn’t give you a right to fucking murder them. People defending that disgusts me. Your life is not in danger. 99.9999% of women don’t die from rape. If you kill the man in situation, you should be charged with murder.”

We see civil suits brought by families of people killed in the commission of a criminal act, alleging the victim had no right to act in their own defense.

Kyle Rittenhouse was charged with murder for defending himself during the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin. One of the prosecutors made the argument, in open court, that if you possess a firearm and your assailant does not, you have given up your right to self-defense.

The American left is, at the same time as suborning criminal activity, building a contradictory, irreconcilable and ultimately unsustainable argument about self-defense.

The left believes:

• Certain criminal and/or violent acts will be supported, condoned, or simply ignored by government.
• Absent that government protection, the individual must take on the duty and responsibility of protecting themselves, their families, their neighbors, and their property.
• Subsequently warning people that the individuals who do take action to protect themselves will likely face prosecution if the government decides it does not agree with the methods employed.
• The criminal, especially when the victim is white, has more rights than the victim.

This is such a massive irrationality; it simply cannot stand.

If you are white (or non-black) and the assailant is black, your choice is to defend yourself and your property and go to jail, or just take a beating – or worse – and stay out of jail.

In the words of James Kraus, the second Rittenhouse prosecutor, “Everybody takes a beating sometimes, right?”

You might assume that these are just stupid minority views, but in my opinion, these government prosecutors and DA’s are clearly sending a message.

What I will do is to go a little farther than Tucker did on his show last night.

This is a front in a race war and the left is fomenting it.

If you are paying attention to the news for the past two years, there seems to be one particular minority involved in mass looting, arson and property destruction.

The argument from the left is that law enforcement and the justice system is simply racist and that is why blacks are overrepresented in our prisons, but if the news is to be believed, it certainly seems it is because blacks commit more crime (which has been a statistical fact for a very long time).

Heather MacDonald of the Wall Street Journal has been researching and writing about this for a long time. In an interview, she noted that blacks are a third of the population in Chicago but commit 80 percent of all shootings. In Los Angeles, blacks commit 44 percent of all violent crime but make up 9 percent of the population. In St. Louis, blacks are less than a third of the population but commit 90 percent of all homicides. In New York City, blacks commit about three quarters of all shootings although they’re 23 percent of the population.

We can argue about the reasons for that – but those are the numbers. White Americans do commit more crimes in total, but largely because they are the overwhelming majority of the population but are “underrepresented” as a percentage of all crimes.

The policies of people like Bragg, Kim Foxx in Chicago, Kim Gardner in St. Louis, and their white “allies” like George Gascon, Chesa Boudin in San Francisco and John Creuzot in Dallas are all clearly preferential to minorities, especially one minority in particular.

And it seems the skin color of the victim is a qualifier for justice.

This is how you get a race war.
