Leopards. Spots. Can’t really change ’em.

An #Occupy[yournamehere]/”Progressive” roundup…

Leftist strong arm tactics Via Hot Air and the NY Post:

An angry Mayor Bloomberg blasted local politicians yesterday for strong-arming the owners of Zuccotti Park into reversing a decision to clear out encamped Wall Street protesters — and allowing the activists to claim a victory over the city.

“My understanding is Brookfield [Properties] got lots of calls from many elected officials threatening them and saying if you don’t stop this, we’ll make your life more difficult,” the mayor said on his weekly radio show, referring to the company that owns the plaza.

“If those elected officials had spent half as much time trying to promote the city to get jobs to come here, we would [be further along] towards answering the concerns of the protesters. I’m told they were inundated by lots of elected officials.”

BDS and the “new civility” in Denver via Michelle Malkin:
“If you get the thirteen families that own the world, including George Bush and his administration, get them in front of the White House and hang them and shoot them, because they deserve that.”
Turn over a rock, find a snake – Geroge Soros and the Tides Foundation are behind the #OWS. Via Gateway Pundit, Reuters has pulled down the story (I’m shocked. Shocked, I tell you…)
Soros and the protesters deny any connection. But Reuters did find indirect financial links between Soros and Adbusters, an anti-capitalist group in Canada which started the protests with an inventive marketing campaign aimed at sparking an Arab Spring type uprising against Wall Street. Moreover, Soros and the protesters share some ideological ground.

Adbusters is an anarchist organization…again, I’m shocked…via Breitbart’s Big Government:

It’s relatively common knowledge at this point that AdBusters issued the first call for an American Tahrir Square-style protest; this has become #OccupyWallStreet and the Occupation movement.  But little has been said of October2011, an aligning organization that issued the same call shortly before AdBusters.  Most may think the Occupation gimmick is a new thing, but some of these organizers have been “Occupying” since at least 2007.  It’s a history rooted in the anti-war and anti-imperialist factions of the left, which today often brings together the anti-consumerist Green Party and some of the anarchist elements into the same circles of activism.

Michael Moore is a Marxist douchebag (a rich Marxist, so therefore also a hypocrite) – via NewsBusters:

Michael Moore on Friday called for police departments across the country to join the Occupy Wall Street protests “the same way the Egyptian army joined the people in Freedom Square there in Cairo.”

MICHAEL MOORE: My last word here out in the hallway just outside of [Lawrence O’Donnell’s] studio is that the police need to join us. In the same way the Egyptian army joined the people in Freedom Square there in Cairo. This is my appeal to the New York Police Department, the police departments all over the country. You are working class people. You’re not paid enough. You have the most dangerous job in the country, and these rich bastards on Wall Street they have ruined your 401(k)s, your pension funds, your future, your children’s future. Money that should be going to having better law enforcement has gone to needless wars in other lands.

So, my appeal to the police is you are us and we are you, and join us. It’s fun. We’ll even let you beat on a bongo drum. That’s my last word. Thank you.

And finally, echoing my Bill Ayers joke (here), Professor Jacobson at his great blog, Legal Insurrection, quotes Walter Shapiro of the New Republic lamenting that this #OWS ain’t all it is cracked up to be:

How do I convey this respectfully as a veteran of the 1960s? This is not the 1967 Pentagon March or anything like it. Nothing I saw in New York this week justifies the current level of the-whole-world-is-watching media coverage.

So basically, the same old, same old. It is just another anti-globalization protest just like every other one, carried out by 0ld dirty hippie leftovers from the 60’s, proto-communists, Marxists, anarchists, youthful useful idiots and fellow traveling Democrats. These are the same protests that get ignored every year due to their fringe status.

The ONLY difference is that Obama needs an issue to run on after being judged a SCOAMF* and the American Big Left Media is desperately trying to gift wrap it for him. Proof? Here it is (via Drudge):

President Obama and his team have decided to turn public anger at Wall Street into a central tenet of their reelection strategy.

The move comes as the Occupy Wall Street protests gain momentum across the country and as polls show deep public distrust of the nation’s major financial institutions.

And it sets up what strategists see as a potent line of attack against Republican front-runner Mitt Romney, a former investment executive whom Obama aides plan to portray as a wealthy Wall Street sympathizer.

Just another reason for us to nominate the Hermanator.
